Sheraton Safari vs Sheraton Vistana Resort?

The price for these two properties is about the same. Actually a 1BR at Vistana Resort is a few dollars cheaper.

Is there a reason to stay at one vs the other? Vistana looks a little newere and nicer,but a little farther from WDW?

There are 2 locations for vistana resort.one is less than 10 min. from Disney,the other is closer to Sea World. both are very nice,but prefer the one closer to Disney. I have stayed at both locations.

Thanks! The one we're looking at is the Resort,in LBV,closer to Disney.

Sill don't understand why a 1 BR here(no housekeeping) is a little cheaper than std rooom at Sheraton Safari.

Sheraton Safari is basically hotel. Sheraton Vistana is a full blown resort with many additional amenities. For me, Vistana would be the "no brainer" choice; and it's closer to WDW. There's also a Vistana Villages closer to Sea World but it doesn't sound like that's one the of alternatives..........have a good time, regardless!

you can get housekeeping if you want ,but will be alittle more. if your only there for a couple of days and can reuse towels and clean up after yourself its cheaper. if you need towels or anything just call. Its the only place we stay at and until last week was a castmember at TDS. I love it there. plenty to do for kids. Main pool and spas are great, and open till 1:00am!!!

Thanks again for teh feedback. I would have thought the Vistana would be more expensive as it has more to offer than a regular hotel. And thanks for positive comments as some of the reviews on tripadvisor were not good.

Definitely the Vistana Resort! We really like VR. You'll love all the extra room and the washer/dryer - in addition to all the recreational activities. Plenty of people on this board have stayed at the VR, so if you have any questions, please ask. My advice is to ask for a room away from 535 and I-4. Some units face these busy floors.

Hi we just came back from a stay at Vistana Resort at the end of Oct.. Wow it was great ! we had a 2 bedroom in the Palms section - across the street from one of the 7 pools !! (ours had the pool slide) I loved having a kitchen and a washer and dryer in the room.. the Drive to Disney is a breeze!! if you got a great rate I would stay here.. Michelle

I love the Safari..stayed there during the hurricanes when we lost power..its a fun place..each room has a Playstation and high speed internet and there is a big snake slide at the pool. Nice place and it allows animals.

Loved the Vistana and it's not far at all to Disney - maybe two miles to the gate. We rented a convertible and we thought the drive was too short! Def. Vistana. Housekeeping is $30 a day BTW.
