We stayed at the Sheraton Safari last week. Won it on priceline for $37 a night. We had 2 rooms. First, the 2 rooms were in completely different buildings. This was okay for us, but I know some people need the extra room for kids.

Anyhow, the staff were very accomodating and let us check in around noon. One of our rooms had an upgraded pool view. The rooms were spotless. I did agree that the lighting is dim, but didn't effect our stay. The beds were great, they were very comfortable, and there were lots and lots of fluffy pillows!!!

The pool water was alittle chilly. We only swam for about 15 minutes because of this. DS (11) did go down the waterslide once, but said it was too cold to do again.

We didn't eat here, so no comments on the food. The location is great. The entrance near DTD is only a minute away (if that).

During our stay a construction crew did hit a water main. This lead to the water being off for almost 2 hrs. Thankfully we were all showered and ready when it happened (around 8am). The hotel offered everyone a late check out for their checkout day in compensation.

All in all, I'd gladly stay here again. Even better if it was via priceline for those rates.

It's nice to hear a good review of the Sheraton Safari. It was one of the hotels I considered last time since it is so close to the main gate.

I have a reservation there for 3 nights in May and can't wait. Got a good rate thru AAA and 1 night FREE with Starwood points!!! :teeth:

Will be staying here for the last 4 days of our trip. Is this hotel within walking distance to Crossroads?

I would also like to know if this hotel is within walking distance to DTD.

Thanks
Sue

It would be a very long walk to DTD (1+ mile I'd guess). It's outside the entrance to hotel blvd and down some.

We stayed at the Sheraton Safari for 3 nights a few years ago. It is a wonderful hotel. We had a poolview room and it was nice to relax on the balcony early in the morning and drink coffee or late in the evening when the kids were sleeping. We only had 1 room, we were traveling with our 2 children ages 3 & 5 at the time. They loved it. The little one loved the kiddie pool and the older one loved the big pool. I agree, it was a little chilly, but we went at the end of April and it was nice because the weather was hot. We did eat in the hotel restaurant and found it a little expensive. We were within walking distance to Olive Garden, TGI Friday's and of course, getting to Disney was easy and quick. The staff was very friendly and the hotel itself was immaculate. I highly recommend it. At the time, we paid $99/nite for a poolview room. We are going in November with some friends and are going to try the Embassy Suites - LBV. The kids are a little older now and we are all on budgets......Embassy Suites - LBV has a free full breakfast for everyone and we need the extra space.
