This is one of travel zoo's top offers at the moment. It looks like a good deal. Anyone stayed there? How is the pool slide?

I stayed there for 4 nights last year and enjoyed it. It's a very convenient location and we could see some of Illuminations from our balcony. The corridor on our floor was musty, but our room wasn't. The AC was magnificent and put the air conditioning at Coronado Springs (where we spent the next 4 days) to shame.

Be aware that their free shuttle service sucks though--it's just a few runs in the morning and in the evening. I paid $35/night in Sept with a Priceline bid, so I'm not sure how big of a bargain $69/night is (of course, at least you know what hotel it is; with Priceline it's a gamble).

I've stayed here a few times over the past years, the most recent being last May. This is my favorite off-site resort. It's close to DTD, clean and a great hotel for $69/night. I'd have booked here for my trip in Sept., but I'd already gotten a great rate at the Comfort Inn up the street.

Oh, and the python slide is fun - it's pretty long (70 ft.?) :cool2:

I have stayed here twice, both at $1.19 a night. We got the Holiday Inn goof and when the HI didn't reopen, they moved our reservations to the Sheraton Safari. The pool area is super. The rooms were nice. The hotel staff were rude and incompetent. The first time, we took 19 high school students. I spoke to them numerous times before our arrival, faxed rooming list and they still messed up our rooms. They were very rude when we tried to straighten it out. The second time that I stayed they messed up our handicap room. We had it reserved and confirmed and then they didn't have it when we arrived. The front staff made me feel like it was my fault, but confirmation said HC room.

The hotel is very close and convenient. Yes, their shuttle service is bad, but you are close enought that driving isn't so bad. There are tons of places to eat close by and Walmart is just down the road.

I got a nite here at the $69 rate - then planning to drive to make the opening of Animal Kingdom on a Friday morning. Based on Google maps it looks like I'll have to drive on I4 then to W Osceola Parkway.

Will there be any traffic on this route between 8-9 AM on a weekday?

Rene
