I have just made reservations at this hotel and was wondering if anyone has had a ny experiences with it. This will be our first trip to WDW and I really liked the decor of this hotel. My only probem is that the person I spoke with to make the ressie said that the hotel was located about 6 miles from the parks, is this true? I am not too sure that I want to be that far away. And is the area around the hotel nice? Like I said any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.......Dawn

Sheraton Safari isn't much further away than the furthest Hotel Plaza Boulevard hotels (Best Western LBV and Doubletree Guest Suites). It's probably 200-300 yards further away than those two. Keep in mind that all non-Disney hotels other than Swan/Dolphin are several miles from any of the parks.

Has anyone stayed in the Junior suite here? Is it worth upgrading for the extra $50/night? Is there a separate bedroom or is it all open?

WOW!!!! Thanks for the great in-depth information on the Sheraton Safari. We were lucky to get this hotel for an upcoming trip through Priceline and I appreciate all of the information you provided. Most of the other reviews I've read only touched on one or two points but yours covered everything. Thanks again!

We stayed in the junior suite once. It was a while ago so I cant remember everything. But is was worth the money. There are definetely 2 different rooms but I cant remember if there is a door that seperates them or just the door way. Our room was upstairs facing the pool on one side. Our boys loved that pool, couldnt get them out of it sometimes until it started to storm. The one room had 2 double beds and the other room had I believe a couch the opened up, a chair and maybe a little coffee table. The kitchenette was against the wall. I think they had a sink, microwave and small refrig. I dont know about cooking facilities. I just kept gatorade in the fridge. It is so close to the world and right next to the crossroads. Its good for convenience, value and if you have a larger family.
