Sheraton Safari feedback?

Has anyone stayed here recently that could give me some feedback on this resort? I just booked a suite for June because it looks great on the website and accepts ug: , but it's not exactly cheap. This would be a splurge for us and a surprise for my family .

We've stayed here via priceline. We thought it was a great resort. I would stay there again. They have those really great beds w/ the down comforters. The rooms and resort in general were really clean. Also, we found the staff to be very, very nice. That was actually a change from some of our previous stays in the area at other hotels. We liked the balcony. DH and I sat out there every night to enjoy the warm air.
The only downside was the pool water was not very warm. The air temps were in the low 70's during our stay. Comparing it to what my home pool feels like at certain temps- I'd say the water was probably only in the upper 60's. Too cold to enjoy. It may have gotten better, but we didn't go back to try.

I got my room at the Sheraton Safari for $59.00, but I see others have gotten even better rates. I just used Priceline and searched Orlando, checked the Disney vicinity box, checked 3 star hotel box, and entered my price. Hope this helps.

Wow! That would be amazing! The price I got was $229/night (for a suite). I just found it cheaper ($159) on another website and sent it in to the Sheraton site because they say they'll beat any price by 10%. I don't know how to do the Priceline thing.....

We got it for either $36 or $37 off priceline. The thing w/ priceline is you won't be guaranteed to get that hotel. While it's very common to come up in the 3* category- so are a few others. So, priceline really only works if you are willing to take any of the hotels in that "zone".
Also priceline doesn't offer suites. So, they wouldn't be a route for you to go.
For the price you're looking at though- you could get a whole condo. Might be a route you might want to check out.

Well I dont wanna brag.....but im gonna brag. I got a week at the SS for 1.13 per night!!!!!!!!! do a search of the boards under the word "typo" and you can read the whole long sordid story of how I got a week at 10 bucks!!!

I know I can stay cheaper at a lot of places and always do. The 4 BR/3 bath house that I'm staying at for our December trip is already booked for June and this is how I started looking around for a pet friendly place to stay. When I saw this hotel I thought that, just this once, I'd splurge and surprise my family . I just want to make sure I won't be disappointed in the accomodations....maybe I should rethink this....I'm getting nervous .

OK....I couldn't take it . My frugal side won out and I canceled the ressie. Once I looked at our "usual" suite and saw that I could get the same dates for $79/night, I just couldn't take it. I had to cancel the ressie for $229 . Thanks for the help, nonetheless.

Sheraton Vistana offers 2 bed suites....check it out. We pay in the range of 150. I don't know about pets though.
