Sheraton Safari and Universal

Does anyone know how far the hotel is from Universal?

We plan on staying there over a weekend, go to Universal, then move to onsite at WDW? Trying to use my Starwood pts for this, but having a hard time figuring out how far, timewise, the resort is. We will have a car.

Any thoughts?

Someone might be able to comment on this better than me, but we did stay at the Sheraton Safari last year. It is right outside the gates from Downtown Disney. So it is a little ways to Universal. I guess it depends on how close you want to be. It is drivable, but may take 20 mins? (Just an estimate. Maybe someone could say better.) In any event, it isn't just down the street.

We went to Universal a couple years ago and I seem to remember there being another Sheraton that is closer to Universal. Maybe Sheraton city???? Although, it might be at a different point level then the Safari so it might cost you more points.

Yep, the Sheraton Safari is near Palm Parkway, which is very close to Disney. I've driven this route so many times, it never bothers me since I like staying at the larger condos and pool homes that are all in that area. If you have your own transporation it's not that bad.

We stayed at Sheraton Safari last year and yes, the journey to Universal took about 20 mins

Great hotel though, within easy walking distance of a Winn Dixie and loads of eating places

It is on the corner of Palm Parkway and 535. It is in a good location and about a 10 minute drive straight up Palm Parkway which turns into Turkey Lake and then make a right into Universal.
