Good afternoon....:goodvibes
I am looking for some advice and help.....We are coming to Disneyland for our first visit next august :cool1: and being the compulsive planner that I am, I am trying to decide on a hotel. As much as I would love to stay onsite, I can't seem to justify the cost and there seems to be some great places on Harbour Blvd. It will be just myself and my DS11 and we will be staying for 9 or 10 nights. :yay: I have narrowed the hotel choices down to the Sheraton Park and Howard Johnson. I would like a view of Disneyland from either hotel. We do enjoy swimming, so a nice pool would be great. I am also looking for nearby restaurants like Denny's and IHOP. I would like a nice, clean room in a safe area. Both hotels are within walking distance, but are they safe walks? I will not be renting a car for our stay. I am also planning on doing some LA/Universal tours as well, so we won't be going to Disneyland everyday.
Which hotel should I choose between these 2 hotels?
Thanks for all advice....:thumbsup2

hojo, im about to try them and they have many good reviews and are a fav here

it has ent rate at 79 a night at select times in the year for a view room. it ha a mimis right there, there food looks good and much cheaper then some in park.

Erin I have stayed at both hotels that you are asking about. The Hojo does have a closer walk than the Sheraton Park. But if you get a higher floor and disney veiw at the Sheraton yu can watch the fireworks from your balcony. There is an Ihop across the street from the Sheraton but we found the hotel restaurant cheaper for breakfast. The Sheraton just had a major referb a year or so ago and it is totally updated. If you have little one the pool is quite deep right from the start. The Hojo has the new Pirate waterpark. Which ever hotel you choose you will be happy with.

We just came back from a stay at HoJo's. They have 1 pool with a new water play area which is nice but by next summer your son will be 12 and probably won't get too much out of it. My son is 11 and had fun in it but it is geared more for younger ones. I was a little disappointed at how early the hot tub closes (7:00pm) because a few nights after being in the parks all day we would have enjoyed using it. We had a Disneyview room but the view wasn't that great because there are so many tall trees but it is still nice if you get a good rate. The rooms are large and clean with very comfy beds. The walk is very safe and not long at all and there are several good restaurants nearby...we ate at Mimis which is awesome!

I've stayed at Hojo's twice and both times have been very satisfied. It is a short safe walk (with young kids and a stroller took less than 10 minutes to the front gates of Disney). I've also heard good things about the Sheraton but with the Entertainment rate I would guess that you can't beat the Hojo for price and value.

HoJo!!!! We were on the 3rd floor for our Disney view room and the view was not that obstructed by the trees. There was a small balcony that we could stand on and watch. With the Ent. Rate you can't beat HoJo.

Thank you all very much for your responses.....:goodvibes It looks like the Howard Johnson is a popular hotel.....:thumbsup2
Thanks again
Erin

also a note the hot tub was being closed early becosue some parents were letting there kids play on the water park area after the life guard left..tho i belive ive heard they have a solution for that and the hot tub will be open like it should be at night
