Planning our first visit to Disneyland and not sure which of these is closer in terms of walking distance to the parks. Any help much appreciated! (We are hoping to use points to stay, that is why we are focused on these two hotels.)

:wave2:

We have stayed at both. Sheraton Park seemed a bit closer of a walk. Still a hair far for us. But the Sheraton Anaheim has it's own shuttle that runs every 30 minutes which was nice. Check them out on googlemaps satellite view and you can see the distances. Both are nice places. Sheraton park seemed a bit more modern and fusiony... The Sheraton Anaheim has huge rooms and a mroe formal feel.

We just stayed at the Sheraton Park Hotel last week. The Sheraton Park does seem to be closer to Disneyland than the Sheraton Anaheim. Also you are walking with many other tourists on Harbor Blvd. Sheraton Anaheim is north of Disneyland and seemed further, but as others have mentioned that location has it's own dedicated shuttle, whereas the Sheraton Park Hotel has the ART at it's door basically.

The Sheraton Park is completing a fresh remodel with what appears to be new soft goods, paint, carpet, etc. Looks like floors 4+ are already refreshed. Also it has very nice balconies that can overlook Disneyland or Orange County and the pool. I was very, very pleased at the Sheraton Park during our stay. Housekeeping was excellent and we got a higher room overlooking the pool with a walk-out balcony which was exactly what I requested. The kids loved the glass elevator.

Jack Wrather (who built and owned the Disneyland Hotel until the 80s) also used to own this hotel (then known as The Inn at the Park). Just a nice Disney connection there. :)

The Sheraton Park Hotel seemed to be central to a lot of things, shops, other restaurants to me whereas when we drove by the Sheraton Anaheim it looked to be a little further away from the "action" but that is just my opinion and I have never stayed there.

Neither one of them is really close walking distance. They both are just a bit too far but you can do it if you are dead set on walking. I've walked home from DL to the Sheraton Anaheim before and its not a bad walk. Sidewalk all the way but you do have to walk over the 5 freeway, on the sidewalk, so that just makes it seem farther to me. The Sheraton Anaheim has its own shuttle that is free to guests and it runs every 30 minutes. I don't know if the Sheraton Park has its own shuttle. If they don't you will have to pay for the ART bus unless you walk. The Sheraton Park seems to be more modern looking of the two but the rooms cost 10 or 20 dollars more per night depending on the room. Their reviews also seem to be a little bit higher.

The Sheraton Anaheim looks more like a castle with an indoor grass courtyard and pool. They had a few coin operated washer/dryers last time I was there so if you have little ones that may be something to consider. Either way they are both nice places and I think you will have a nice time regardless of which one you pick. Having a AAA card will get you a discount at both hotels. If you bring a dog with you, the pup stays free with your AAA card at the Sheraton Anaheim.

We have stayed at Sheraton Park twice previously and will be staying there again in March 2015. It's is a nice 15-20 minute walk down Harbour Blvd to the parks from the hotel. The pool area is an oasis that is surrounded by palm trees where you can relax after a long day at the parks. We always request a full balcony room that faces the parks so you can see the fireworks should you decide not not to brave the crowds to watch the show. Sheraton Park is also a short walk to the Garden Walk for various dining options. We love Sheraton Park and would recommend it to anyone.

Enjoy your trip! :)

If staying on points, the Park Sheraton is a better value. For 8,000 points per night, you can stay on the club level with continental breakfast and evening happy hour. You need to call to book a club level room. A standard room at either hotel is 7,000 points per night. There is no club lounge at the Sheraton Anaheim.

We walk from the Park Sheraton all the time. The walk from the Sheraton Anaheim is longer, but as others have noted, they do have a free shuttle. -- Suzanne
