We are WDW veterans and this will be our first trip to DL. I am trying to embrace this new world where I do not "have" to stay on-site to have a wonderful trip. We will be visiting DL from May 22-May 29 .We have narrowed it down to these two hotels: Sheraton Anaheim Hotel or Sheraton Park Hotel. Please let me know if you have stayed at either and what you liked or disliked at each.

I have stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim with my granddaughter and LOVED it. I love their dedicated shuttle that runs every 30 minutes to Disneyland. Rooms are nice, beds comfy, and the pool heated and not crowded. I can't speak for the other one as I haven't stayed there.

Another vote for the Sheraton Anaheim Hotel. We've been staying here for the past 3 trips to DL and love it. Besides staying onsite, I can't think of a better place to stay. Rooms are huge, clean, and comfy. Very restful place after a long day in the park. Best reason for this hotel is their dedicated "private" Sheraton shuttle which runs every 30 minutes. Takes you from the lobby to DL in less than 5 minutes. You walk even less than folks staying across the street.

Sheraton Anaheim is great. They have a reliable dedicated shuttle, and the hotel and grounds are beautiful. You'll have a great stay.

I have to agree with recommendations for Anaheim Sheraton. That is the only off site hotel we will stay at.

Thanks everyone....I just booked Sheraton Anaheim. I feel so much better having that done. I was leaning toward Sheraton Anaheim and you clinched it for me. I guess I just needed that little extra push from my fellow Disers. Now I can move on to planning meals. YUM!!

Our family stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim Hotel for the first time last weekend and thought it was a very nice hotel. The kids liked the pool and the room we had (two queen beds) was a decent size. The shuttle is definitely a plus. :)

I cannot wait to get there. The shuttle clenched it for me and the pictures of the hotel are beautiful. Do you have to make reservations for their dedicated shuttle? I've read at other Disneyland area hotels you make a reservation as to when you want to go to the park and when you want to return to the hotel.

No ressies needed for the shuttle. Just be outside by the bus on the half hour - it leaves very promply. We've stayed at both and prefer the the one you chose over the Sheraton Park. The only things better at the Park are the view rooms are really great - you can watch fireworks and see the tops of several attractions. And the resort is newer. But their parking is $14 per car and AS only charges us $10 for both our cars and the staff is nicer. We also love their breakfast buffet in the morning. Are you Starwood members? We have gotten free breakfast vouchers a few times. It never hurts to ask. You will love the oversized rooms. Have a great trip. :goodvibes

Thanks for the info lulubelle. I've heard that the grounds are beautiful at the AS and the age didn't matter to me as long as it is well kept. There is a similar Sheraton in St Louis which we often stay in at the Westport Plaza. That's what drew my hubbie to this one. He loves it. We are Starwood members and I did receive the card in the mail but I cannot seem to find it. So I never got to use it. Oh well.

The shuttle sounds pretty good. Did it run early in a.m. and later at night? And how does pickup work at the park? Also, the rooms are described as being larger (500 square feet). Did that seem to be the case? Thanks.

I'm not sure if you mean the Starwood card or a discount card from them that you can't find, but if you call SPG they can look at the offers available to you based on your level - I always call and look online, and every time I have called they have been able to find the same deal or something better for me than I could find online.

FWIW, I think you made a good choice in hotel also. We stayed there last year, and although it wasn't the same as staying onsite, the room was big and fairly clean (have to say, our window was really dirty), the staff was great, and the shuttle service very timely and friendly. Plus, the grounds are nice and the hotel looks cool :)

The shuttle service follows the Disneyland park hours. The first one departs the hotel 30 minutes before the park opens. And last pickup is 1 hour after the park closes.

Then throughout the day, the shuttle departs the hotel every 30 minutes on the hour and the half ( 8:00am, 8:30am, 9:00am...). The people are dropped off and the shuttle picks up the people from the park back to the hotel. The pickup time is at every :15 and :45 ( 8:15am, 8:45am, 9:15am....).

If the bus is full, they bring up a 2nd one. And like others have said, it's very prompt. Two minutes late and you probably missed the bus.
