Top sheet or no top sheet? What do you use??

I do not use a top sheet. We have fitted sheets on the bed, and a blanket on top. A heavy blanket for winter, a light blanket for summer. Growing up, we never used top sheets. So I guess I just got use to not using them. Now in a hotel, I use the top sheet. I am afraid the blankets are not washed as often as the top sheet, so I just feel "cleaner" if I use a top sheet at a hotel.
To me, a top sheet is not snuggly or comfortable.

My husbands sister thinks it is so odd that we do not use the top sheets in our house.

What about you, top sheet or no top sheet?

I have to have a top sheet. DH thought only hotels had them until he met me . I didn't know there were people who didn't use a top sheet until I met DH. Just having a blanket would be uncomfortable. Plus in the summer sometimes it's chilly enough for a cover but anything heavier than a sheet would be too much. Also, I feel I'd have to wash the comforter very frequently and that's a pain.

DD7 doesn't have a top sheet on her bed. I used to put one on and she'd push it to the bottom and just use her comforter. So now I don't bother. Her comforter gets washed a lot.

I always have a top sheet but like CEDMom I have a DD that can't stand one. If you put it on her bed, she pushes it to the bottom and just uses her comforter. When we travel I try to get her to use the top sheet just because I think its cleaner. But she usually pushes it down in her sleep.

No top sheet. I don't like my feet to be constricted, so nothing gets tucked in at all. When I try to sleep with a top sheet, it all gets bunched up somewhere, so what's the use of it anyway? DH is the same way.

I wash my sheets weekly. If I did not use the top sheet I would be washing my down comforter every week too. No I just was it about every 3-4 months.

I do exactly what you do...no top sheet at home (I do put them on the kids' beds) but in a hotel, I use them & try to steer clear of the comforter.

DH likes a top sheet, but I say that they always make me feel cold.
A blanket is much softer/warmer.

I would die from that much heat!

I wear sleeveless nightgowns all year round and we have a summer-weight duvet that we use all year. If we don't have the air on, the blanket is off and we are just using the top sheet.

Our blood must be much thicker than yours, thereby keeping us warm with less.

We are the same way. My DH likes a top sheet as well. I thought I was the only who thought a blanet was much softer and warmer.

I use a top sheet but my DS13 doesn't like them on his bed. He used to just sleep on top of it with his comforter pulled over him. Now, he just doesn't put one on his bed at all.

I have to have my top & bottom sheets. Also, I love it at hotel stays when they use 3 sheets!!!
