If there are any Sleeping Beauty fans out there … the only thing my DD wants for her 8th b-day is an Aurora dress. Can you tell me if/where I can find one for her in the park? I’m sure it will cost a fortune … but, she’s only little once! Also, do they look nice? Or should I try to find one before we go? I thought shopping for one in the park on her b-day would be fun for her. Any help from those who’ve been to the park recently – or going soon – would be much appreciated!

Hi there,

My DD1 is a big Ariel fan but she went through a stage when she really liked Aurora. IMO, the dresses in DLRP are nice but thr ones from the Disney Store in London are a lot nicer and a lot more detailed.

I went to the Disney Store yesterday and the de-luxe dress costs £35 which I didn't think it was *that* bad. Have a look:

You can order it online and maybe give it to her while you're there or just before you go as a gift for her birthday.

I would definitely get it before you go. The dresses at DLRP are hugely expensive, and while there are some gorgeous ones, so they should be at that price! She can still go shopping on her birthday, but she'll find something she wants at a much more reasonable price to you if its not the dress.

I should also add, depending if its still on when you are going she should enjoy the Sleeping Beauty show behind the castle.

Thanks so much! I did order the first one you suggested on the Disney store site. It looks great and should make my little princess' day!:yay:

I did order a dress from the Disney Store. I do hope the show behind the castle is a go. It would be the perfect addition to the day for my birthday girl. I have even reserved the Prince and Princess dinner for her special day ~ hopefully a very special day for her. She will be 8 ~ they grow up too fast!

Hi sherette7769 and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

Apart from price the other thing to watch out with outfits bought at DLP is the sizes often run smaller than those at home :)

Aaawwww how lovely for your daughter.

My daughter is a huge Sleeping Beauty fan too, when we went last year we queued for well over an hour to see Sleeping Beauty and I will never forgot my daughters face, she was in awe :cloud9:

I know you've already sorted out a dress for your Aurora, but ebay are brilliant for Disney costumes :thumbsup2 - you can pick up brand new ones there at real bargain prices, compared to the shops.

You will find loads of Aurora (and other Princesses) things to buy in the park. I think you've done the right thing buying the dress before you go and your DD can then get loads of accessories in the park.
We have a Belle mad daughter and she has bought and seen loads on our recent trips such as hair accessories, shoes, tiaras, bags, feather boas, cups, beakers, alarm clock, pencils, pens, notebooks, hair brushes, money box etc etc.
Almost all shops have princess things and a few have sections for each Princess so a whole section will be dedicated to Aurora things. One of teh shops in the Village is like this- I think its the Toyshop and also some of the main street shops

I'm sure she'll be able to find loads that she "just can't live without" - lol! It will be her 8th b-day, so it will be hard to tell her no ~ even though it may be hard to find an empty place in her room to display one more Aurora!

The Aurora dress came today … it’s wonderful! I can’t wait to see her face when we wake up the morning of DD’s b-day, dress her like Aurora princess: , and head to the park to see her favorite princess! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Please take a photo and post it on the board... Glad you're happy with the dress - I love the Disney Store in London. Actually went there today, a friend gave Mia a voucher for her bday and we ended up staying there for an hour, just looking at things. It's lovely...

Also glad that I purchased it at the Disney Store in London, as the Euro price on the tag said 60. I guess that's just a small look at what to expect at DLRP.
