I was a nervous wreck all day. This was DDs first day at her new high school. I was really feeling guilty for putting her through this. I really pushed for this move to Florida. Last night she told me that she wished she was starting a new year at her old high school where she had friends. ARGH!

I picked her up after school. I was watching the kids come out of the school. When she walked out, she had a big smile on her face. Thank heavens! She liked her teachers and met several kids. She thinks she will try out next week for the school musical. They are doing Man of La Mancha. Don't you love it when a plan comes together?

:)
*sigh*
Isnt that a great feeling when our children realize that they will be just fine :) and (dare we hope it?) happy :)

Im glad all went well for her. I know how it can be to be the new kid.

Thats great....the drama club will be good too...she'll make lots of friends. My DD joined the Colorguard (no experience needed) with the marching band in her freshman year(cause I wanted her to do Something). Ended up staying with it for 4 yrs. and was Captain for her last two years of high school. Made lots of great friends too!
Have her check out the Color Guard and/or the Winter Guard, ...they are really big in Florida!

my little sister survived her first day of HS today. She had a bit of a culture shock, her middle school graduating class was 28, her HS is 4,000

That's great!! I hope she enjoys her New school.

Oh my, that's HALF the battle!

I know you're thrilled, nothing makes us happier than seeing that the others that are indirectly affected by OUR choices are happy with them. Makes it all soooo right!

I hope she continues to prosper! Drama Club is such a great source, and your beautiful daughter will quickly find herself at home in Orlando.

God bless,

Robinrs

That's judt the best! My DD is startingHS this year and is bummed because it ISN'T in FL!:p She has her college picked out there, and is literally wishing her life away...ahe has even thought about summer school to knock a semester off and head south 6 mo's early! If ONLY DH could find decent work there. Enjoy, and tell you DD that we are so glad she is o.k. with it!

Glad to hear your DD is happy at her new HS. It certainly is a ease to your mind to know she is going to adapt just fine.
