Hello!
DH and I will be heading to seaworld for a day in November.
We would love some info on Sharks underwater grill.
What types of experiences have you had here?
How is the food? THe prices? Is it worth it?
Thanks!:D

We ate there last Feb the day we got engaged during the Shamu show and we were VERY disapointed, rude uniterested server, cold over seasoned food and very expensive for what you get. Try Dine with Shamu instead.

We loved it there!

Our server was excellent, our food was delicious and watching the sharks swim by was totally incredible!!!!!

I can't wait to go back again :)

The menu looks good but it has recieved mixed reviews price wise it seems pretty expensive:jester:

We ate there on Monday Afternoon for lunch.

Service was leisurely, but good. Prices were slightly higher, but nothing I'd consider unreasonable for the meal we had, in a theme park, in the atmosphere we were in.

I found it very much like the Coral Reef at Living Seas at WDW.

As an example, my wife and I each had a beer, we shared "tropical Bruschetta" app., I had a combo with Jumbo Shrimp, sea scallops, and Tuna all pan-grilled with cajun seasonings, and my wife had crab cakes. We were both very pleased with the dishes, both in quality and quantity. I'm fairly picky about seafood as well.....grew up in New England, and have lived in FL and Coastal GA.

Our bill was $66.00 and change.....about what you'd expect for a similar meal in a fine dining atmosphere elsewhere, IMHO.

Now, they don't serve any sandwiches or other light fare, but the atmosphere is great, so as long as you know what you're getting, I personally don't think it's unreasonable.

YMMV.

Thanks for the great review! Now you said they don't have sandwiches? The menu shows a few. Is that wrong?

Thanks again!

Wrong menu. Sorry. You were right. There are no sandwiches, but they have gourmet pizzas. Those sound good. Can't wait to go! Thanks again!

We just ate their last night and I would have to agree with 2angelsinheaven the food was overly seasoned and just not worth the price. The kids meal were reasonably priced but no drink included and each of their choc milks were $2.50, which is pretty steep. The sharks were cool though. They need a better chef. We would not do it again. Just my two cents.

disneyisfun,

Thanks for the review. Now, did you like the atmosphere? Where did you sit? Close to the tank? Can you see sharks from every seat?

Thanks. We are still going, but really going because DS4 lovesssssssss Sharks!

The atmosphere was totally cool, especially when you first walk in. We had a great table...not right up against the tank but a booth very close. When you walk in there is an upper level and a lower level. We were on the lower level, however, I think all seats have a great view.

We have two five year olds, one girl one boy and my son loves sharks as well. His favorite show is the Crocodile Hunter. He was very impressed with the sharks, but I would have to say that about half way through he kinda lost interest. Actually, to be honest he wasn't feeling that good so maybe that made a difference.

In any event, I am glad we tried it...but would not do it again. My kids split a kid's meal, I had pork, my husband had the sharks trio and we split an appetizer. He had two beers I had ice tea and the bill came to $76.00 with tip $90.00. A little too much $$ for the food quality. The server was nice, just a tad slow. Hope this review helps you...

Thanks! I just saw this review! I really appreciate you taking the time to answer me.

Thanks again!

If you just want to check out the sharks, but don't want to spend big bucks on a meal, stop in for a drink at the bar. The view is great.

Also, the bar area has a few "tables" which are actually raised bar-like seating areas. They also serve the full menu in the bar area. Eating there can save you from a wait for a table. And like I say the view is great. Not as cool as sitting right next to the tank, but great nonetheless.
