Has anyone done the Sharks Dive Deep tour at Seaworld?
I would just hoping to find out what other people thought of it.

SDD - you ride a cage attached to a bar the length of the tank. Your depth is barely below the surface and you stand there and get 'driven' from one end to the other.

DQ - is a regular SCUBA dive in the tank. The first part of the dive was a bit more supervised, you went in the bubble and stuff, but after that you and your dive buddy just did your own thing, having the entire tank to explore. You feel like you become part of the attachion...which is how the CM's explained it..... But you do have to be a certified diver... About the sharks.....well, it was explained that if a shark was coming right at you, it was a good idea to get out of the way but being well fed I'm aware of no incidents in the 10 or more years they've run this... No standing in a cage here. Still a highlight in my divelog.

p.s. DQ costs less & does not require park admission....if the family is in the park and identifies themselves to a CM, they will be escorted to a viewing area (aka legal line jumping). We have cool video we took; & waving at the folks in the rest'raunt is FUN....

BUT you need an open water C-Card....

I've done both the Sharks Deep Dive and Aqua Seas at Epcot and highly enjoyed both of them.

I posted a review for the Sharks Dive somewhere on this board - that was my mom's Christmas present this past year and we did the tour this January. We both thought it was very cool to be so close to so many types of sharks and in an actual shark cage. My mom thought that the helmet was a little heavy, but I wasn't bothered by it. I was up and down and all around the cage to get a better look at all of the sharks and there is someone on the surface that is constantly talking to you explaining what everything is, etc and my mom and I could talk to each other the whole time too. I was pretty cold by the end and happy that it was done - just so I could warm up. Before the dive you have someone talk to you - I think to make sure you're calm and will be okay with the actual getting into water with shark thing - lol! They do go over what sharks you will see, etc.

The Aqua Seas tour at Epcot is the scuba-assisted snorkel at the Living Seas. Good if you're not scuba certified:) I think overall Disney does a better job of leading the tour and explaining things than SW. With Aqua Seas you have an equal amount of time in the water - about 30 minutes. You can go wherever you want (except near the dolphins) and look at whatever you want which is different than the Sharks Dive of course.

I think they're both very different. I'm very glad to have done both tours. I need to take my mom on the Epcot tour now so she can do that one:) Read the descriptions and reviews of both and see which you think you'd like to take.

HTH!
