Shark Steam Pocket Mop? Not sure its working

I bought the pocket mop at Costco this week. I assebled it today & tried it out & I am not sure it is working properly. Do you have to pump the handle on yours alot to get it to steam? I really had to pump it up & then mop quickly with it to visibly see steam coming from it. Then pump it up again.

I did clean my whole kitchen tile floor & it looks pretty good. But I want to make sure I didn't get a defective one. If I have to exchange it I want to do so ASAP.

Yes you have to keep pumping it. I have found that if I pump a lot at the beginning to get it started that my normal mopping motion will keep it pumped up and steaming. But I have to move quick and in shorter/jerkier movements. If you stop, even for a few seconds to move the cord out of the way or something you have to repump. Now that I have gotten the hang of it, I don't have to do a lot of pumping. However, it did take a few weeks to get the proper "technique".

I my Shark and think it does a great job. I do like to see and hear the steam though! Not sure if it is totally necessary to get it clean, but it makes me feel better.

I own a Shark and it's okay, but after reading more about steam mops I now regret buying it and wish I'd bought a Bisel model instead. Costco has a no questions asked return policy, in your shoes I'd return it and get a Bisel instead. But that's just me.

Can you tell us what you read? I had bought the Shark, and returned it unopened, and then changed my mind again . . . Thank heavens it's a mop, and not a vasectomy!

You should try the Haan. No pumping involved and it's wonderful.
