I don't want to get flamed or anything, but I think this is a somewhat touchy subject. I just booked free dining for Sep 2007. :) It's a ten night trip with my mom, so between the two of us, we'll have 20 credits. Say we eat at Kona, (which we probably will,) can we split one TS meal, or do we each have to get one? Neither one of us would be able to eat a full meal every day, and we're planning on splitting a bunch of CS meals too.

You can't split at buffets, restaurants that serve all you care to eat (like LTT), dinner shows, dinner packages (like the Fantasmic Dinner package) or price fixed meals like CRT.

You can split at Kona, of course you'll have to pay for an extra drink. Are you planning on any two credit meals. Start splitting TS meals and you'll just wind up with extra credits. If you wind up splitting consider deviating from the conventional wisdom and have a TS breakfast. You're not going to want a TS lunch and a TS dinner.

Thanks for the reply. I knew we wouldn't be able to share at buffets, and I know I want to go to Boma - it's up to me to make ADRs, I was also thinking of doing several 2 TS meals, (Flying Fish, Brown Derby, and Narcoossee's and / or Citrico's.)

There's a lot of confusion, I believe, about sharing. There is no problem with sharing the food that's on your plates on your table. What you cannot share is Dining Plan credits. So, for example, if you're eating dinner with some friends who aren't on the Dining Plan, you can use your Dining Plan credits for yourselves, but they need to pay for their meals in cash. The only other time sharing becomes an issue is when some members of your party are young children. Since the rule is that child meal entitlements cannot be used for adult meals, you're obligated to use all the credits that are associated with them for child meals -- you are not to share your adult meals with them and/or pay for their child meals in cash, so as to use their credits at a later meal for more adult meals.

Other than that (and therefore in the vast majority of situations) sharing is perfectly fine.

Feel free to split meals as you would at any local restaurant. At least here, the usual restrictions apply at an AYCE meal. But we always share aps andd desserts locally, so why wouldnt we on vaca? We may end up with an extra meal, (departure day) or if not, so what if we have 1 pesky TS credit left over, as long as we enjoyed ourselves, who cares :thumbsup2

Also keep in mind anything now in place may not be (or probably will be different somehow) by 09/2007.
