Is it's allowed to post on this board about sharing tickets? I am desperate to get tickets as cheap as possible because money is very tight.

You can not share tickets as Disney takes a biometrics scan of the person using the ticket for the first time to prevent fraudulent use by others.

Are there any tips on how to get cheap tickets then? We are only going for two days. We aren't getting hoppers. I am so worried we won't have the money to go to Disney. Plus I can't believe I am paying more to do two days at Disney than I am paying for the airfare for a family of 4.

Have you thought about doing a timeshare tour in Orlando to get some free tickets? It would take a few hours out of your day but it could save you alot of money!

Also, if you are going to be in Disney when they are having a Pirate & Princess party consider getting tickets for that instead of usual 1 day tickets. They are cheaper and it would be fun for your family. Buying a ticket for that and a 1 day ticket to one of the other parks would be cheaper than a 2 day park ticket. (This is assuming that the Magic Kingdom is one of the parks you want to see.) You can find out more about the party here

If you won't be there for a party. Consider only doing one park day and maybe a water park on another day to keep your costs down.

Finally, if your heart isn't set on Disney, consider the Universal deal going on right now. You get 7 days unlimited admission to the 2 parks for less than $90 a person. Much cheaper than Disney!

I hope you figure out something that works for you and your family. There are lots of fun things to do in the Orlando area that don't cost nearly as much as Disney.

Disney isn't very economical for a day or two, but it's a surprisingly cheap vacation for a whole week (it can rival a mass market cruise like Carnival or Royal Caribbean.) Mousesavers.com has links to discounted tickets, but I think they all start at the 3 day ones. The discounts never seemed that big to me though.

Can you give us a few more details. Like what your dates are? How many children? Are you staying on-site? What things did you really want to see?

We are a family of 4 (mom, dad, son who is 11 and daughter who is 5). We are staying in two different timeshares. One we are getting 2 adults tickets to Disney and the other we are getting a $50 food coupon. We will arrive in Orlando on July 24 and depart on July 31.
We are not crowd people but can deal with two days of Disney crowds for our children. My daughter wants to go to Magic Kingdom and our son wants Epcot. Everything big is paid for except the car rental and disney tickets. We will have a $200 deposit charge for the car rental because we don't have a credit card. If I could find a way around this, I would be a happy camper. I have looked into taxis and it appears it would be cheaper to get the car and pay the deposit.
It seemed like every time we had money saved for the trip, something happened and we had to use that money. Here we are a month away from the trip and I am stressing.
My daughter is suppose to get her hair done and we will eat with Cinderella on 7/25. My husband and son want to go to Arabian Knights that same day. We have to buy food (groceries), get gas in the car and would like some spending money.
Postponing the trip can't be done. My kids are very excited about this trip.
I am kicking myself that I haven't saved more or better planned. This is our first real vacation and I want everything to be wonderful for the kids.
I am sure I am working myself up over nothing. I have no doubt that we will have the money to go. But until then, I will stress!!!!
If I could just find the tickets I need for less than I am finding, half the pressure I am feeling would be gone!

This isn't really on-topic, but are you saying that you're going to go to Arabian Nights on one of your "Disney ticket days"? I'd re-think that. If you're only going to have a couple days of Disney tickets, I'd suggest that you don't plan ANYTHING off-site for those days. Plan to arrive early and stay late for those days, and do your off-site things on days when you aren't "spending" tickets.

Realistically, there's not much way to get two days of tickets for much less. You can save a little through the discount ticketbrokers online -- I've used ticketmania.com and was pleased; just don't expect significant discounts.

My son and husband are going to Arabian Knights the second night we are in Orlando. We plan on going to Disney day 3 and day 5. On our Disney Ticket Days, we are only doing that park.

I was going to ask the same question. We are going on friday of next week and I don't have alot of money and only want to go to the parks for 2 days but that is still 600.00 at least for the three of us. We aren't going anywhere else and don't choose to. I did sign up for a presentation/tour and will get 2 tickets for 10.00, which works for me and don't care about the presentation, actually I want to buy one and then we all can go on vacation every year (well see what happens after all 10 of us are in the same house for 10 days.)

Have you ever been to Disney World before? Have the kids? I am asking because as nice as the hair event is, if your DD has never been to the park she may want to spend the time on the rides not having her hair done. It really depends on her. My dd7 would not be at all happy about sitting having her hair done when Space Mountain is waiting!;) We have had breakfast at the castle and it was nice. It will take a chunk of your park time though.

Are you planning on park hoppers? Will you want to see any park but MK? While a 3 day base ticket is $192/$160 a 7 day ticket is only $210/$173. If it were my first trip I would cut the extras and buy tickets for each day we are on vacation. It gives you more flexibility to see everything. And there is PLENTY to see without the extra character meals or off-site dinner shows. Since you are in a condo plan to eat 2 meals a day in the condo and have either a packed sandwich or counter service for the other meal. You will really only save on tickets by going for more days. But no way can you fill the other days for less than about $20 total.

I agree with DisneyCrazyMom. Instead of getting tickets to the smaller off-site places, you can get base tickets to WDW for several days. The more days you go to WDW, the less the per-day cost is. Last year we were in a similar situation-we were only going to do Disney a couple of days, and also do the offsite attractions we hadn't seen before. 2 day tickets to WDW plus the tickets to the offsite places were just too expensive. So we decided to do WDW and bought 6 day tickets, and skipped all the other things. It turned out to be one of our more frugal vacations. We ate one sit down dinner at Epcot, and everything else was at the condo or counter service. There are so many activities at WDW that are included in your regular tickets that I think you will find the offsite things like Arabian Nights unnecessary. As for your daughter's hair, I think it's expensive. While I'm sure it will be a special time, I think it can be saved for a future trip. You can put her hair in a pretty bun and give her some sparkly things for her hair and some glittery lotion, and she'll feel just as special. I hope you can come up with a good solution. Do you get the Mousesavers newsletter? If you do, there's a link to discount tickets there. If you don't, PM me and I'll send it to you.

You can do Disney economically, even for a week! I've done it! :)

You can buy a nice tiara and sash at disney world and do your daughter's hair. Also perhaps you could stay at a hotel that offers transportation to disney, then you wouldn't need to rent a car.

have you considered staying on-site and using the disney transportation to and from the airport?

how about foregoing the one time share that is only giving you a $50 food coupon. to me that's worthless, $50 for 2 hours worth of 4 people's time.

i'd consider forgetting about the princesses and arabian nights, both are going to be very pricey.

also, consider your food budget and see if the DDP would work for your family. you will get much better choices and a variety of experiences using that. IMO

i really wonder if it would be less expensive for you to stay on-site in a value resort, use DME, and have the DDP. that's if you can cut corners by forgetting the rental car and the expensive theme dinners.

to me, it's worth so much to stay on-site and get the whole experience.

Here is my absolute best tip for you. Do the time share presentation first thing. Take the tickets you get there...and upgrade them to 4,5 or 6 day expiring, non-hopper tickets at guest services at Disney. Yes, this is allowed. No, Disney does not care that you got these tickets at a time share presentation. Yes, it is easy to do.

You will have to have cash since you don't have a credit card. They will credit you with the amount the ticket is worth and charge you the difference that the ticket you want to buy is worth.

Some time share tickets are non-upgradable, I am not sure which.

Unused tickets, if upgradable and upgraded, are valued using a secret Disney price that can be likened to a wholesale price. So you may pay more for the upgrade than you might otherwise expect.

The Disney tickets you get at timeshare presentations are upgradeable. The "wholesale price" of these tickets might not be the Disney price, possibly $10 - $20 lower, but in my experience (did this two years ago) they gave us full price towards an upgrade. I was surprised, but this was the case.

Okay, good. I didn't understand it that way from your previous post, but you've planned that correctly.

I see buy-one, get-one-free coupons for Arabian Nights and other dinner theaters fairly often. Unfortunately, since we never do those things, I don't really know where I've seen them.

This is a good point. By the time you wait downstairs, go up to your seats, wait to be served, and wait for all the characters to come by your table, Cinderella's breakfast will take at least two hours of your park-time.

While the castle visit is special, you could do a princess breakfast at one of the resorts (it doesn't matter that you're not a guest there) on a non-ticket day. That'd give you more time in the parks, and it'd give you the early morning, which is the most valuable time to visit the parks -- July is unmanagable if you don't plan to ride during the off-times.
