So if 4 of us go out to eat and only 2 on the deluxe dining plan. ... Can we get 2 complete meals and share it between the 4 of us?

I think that what you are suggesting, is a big "NO."

The Deluxe Dining Plan is a very generous amount of food, but it is meant for one person. If sharing was allowed, it wouldn't be profitable.

Besides, everyone staying in one room has to be on the plan. I don't believe you can split which plan you choose.

There is no sharing of dining plan meals with those people not on the dining plan. When you order you waiter/waitress will ask if you are all on the dining plan. Do you plan to lie to them? If you are sharing with someone not on the plan you are indeed redeeming a credit for them.

When you go to pay for your meal your card will pull up how many people are on the dining plan, so they will know then too that you lied. I'm sorry to sound so harsh, but why ask if it was ok or not when you plan on doing what you want to anyway?

By getting them an extra meal to split are you talking about children with you? That is how it sounds. As pennyplanner pointed out, everyone in the same room must be on the same plan, so unless you have 2 rooms want you want to do won't work anyway.

We frequently share meals on the dining plan. There has never been an issue with this.

As has been pointed out, you may not share with people not on your dining plan. You may order fewer meals than people and share those meals (with the apparent exception of Beaches and Cream, for some reason) with other people on your dining plan.

Regardless of what your opinions may be on the subject, those are the plan rules and the DIS does not tolerate discussion of how to bypass them.

Are the children on a dining plan with their family? If they are, they would just need to bring along their KTTW card and redeem their own credits.

And as I warned about earlier, discussion of methods to get around Disney rules is not allowed at the DIS. Expect to see this topic locked and several posts deleted by a moderator.

Disney's guidelines are clear about this. Credits are not to be shared with those that don't have the dining plan.

From the Brochure

"Can I use my Disney Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family member who are not included in my reservation or have not purchased a Disney dining plan?"

Sorry, but you may not (bolding is theirs in the brochure) use your Disney Dining Plan to redeem meals for friends or family members hwo are not included in your reservation or have not purchased a Disney dining plan.

Sharing ways to get around Disney Policy isn't permitted on the boards, so this one is closed.
