I have read through a number of posts and I am wondering has anyone tried to share food on the dining plan recently. Is there an extra charge and is it even allowed at sit down resturants? I am only wondering because I know neither of my kids, nor I will eat alot. My hubby is about the only one who might be able to finish off Dinner and dessert both and I am not sure its a good value for our family if we cant share the sit down meals. Our kids are 12 and 9 and it looks like one will be charged as an adult. The younger one probably wont eat more than a few bites at each meal. When we take them to most resturants, she usually eats off of one of our plates. I know this may seem strange but she has medical issues and really isnt a big eater (cant even finish a kids meal). My husband would like to stick with the dining plan so the food is budgeted in and we dont have to worry with credit cards or carrying cash for food. We are thinking we could use the extra meals for character dining where of course our younger daughter could use her credits. Do any of you know if this is possible?

I can't speak completely on this since we haven't used the Dining Plan yet. We plan to this March. I believe you can share meals like usual at restaurants that sell individual meals. However, you cannot share meals at buffet style dinners. Others may have more information!

We shared last September without a problem. My parents were traveling with us and they went to every meal with us and we shared with them and sometimes ordered extra sides and they always got their own drink. Before anyone tells me how I ripped Disney off -- I did not. The kids ordered their kids meals and my husband and I shared with my parents. They are old and have medical problems and eat less than my kids. No one said anything and we never had an upcharge. Even with sharing there was so much food, no one left a meal hungry.
