Sharing memory maker?

I have purchased memory maker for my upcoming trip. (Super excited!!!)

We also have extended family members traveling too, though they are staying offsite and we're staying at POP. I read in the forums that I can share memory maker with them if we are friends/linked in MDE. Since they won't have magic bands, I know that cm's will give them a card if they get a photo taken.

A) If they are linked with me, can they just give me their cards and I can attach the photos to my account? Or do they have to do it through their MDE?
B) If they aren't linked with me in MDE (some of them haven't made an account and I'm not sure they will) and give me their photo card, will that still work?

Thank you.

A) either way. It doesn't matter if they add the photos or you do, as long as your accounts are linked.
B) If they aren't linked, then that's the only way to make it work.

This is the 2nd time this week that I need to find an answer and someone had already posted the question....off-topic but just had to mention.

Going to WDW in August with a party of 12 [4 total families/groups]. I've never purchased Memory Maker but wondered if we did do it, could we all share. So here's my question, if we link our accounts, when we approach a Disney photographer, they just scan our magic-band and everyone's pictures all appear on the one Memory Maker "account?" Wondering how it all works from start to finish.

Thanks!

In relation to this question, I will be taking my nephew but his parents are staying home. I bought the memory maker can they look at the pictures from home as we go. How do I get them access to the photos? They cannot accidently erase them can they?

I'd assume you can just give them your log in info and they can view.

If you have memory maker and want to see/download everyone in your group's photos, you need to link with them in MDX as friends and family AND be sure they have opted to allow photo sharing in their MDX account.

From disneyworld.com:

Q.
Does my Memory Maker purchase allow me to download photos linked to my family and friends?

A.
Yes. If other people are connected to your Family & Friends list and choose to share their photos taken during your Memory Maker window, you have the ability to download those photos.

Your Memory Maker window starts once you capture your first photo—or if you purchased Memory Maker at the advance purchase price, the Memory Maker window begins 3 days following the date Memory Maker was purchased—and ends 30 days following your first photo download or when you otherwise redeem your Memory Maker purchase.

To view and download your friend and family members’ photos, please ask them to sign in to their Disney account and set photo sharing permissions using the Family & Friends page in their Profile. On their Family & Friends list, they can locate the Guest they want to share photos with and select “Edit” to access the photo sharing control.

Once the photos have been shared, you will be able to view and download them along with your Disney PhotoPass photos onMyDisneyPhotoPass.com and on the My Disney Experience Mobile App.

Please note that photo sharing rules are subject to change.

If I understand right, set her up an account(she will never do it), link her to my account and we are all set?

See Dashzap's post above. Also whoever purchases memory maker/linked to their account is in charge of it. Once everyone else is linked/shared onto your account you'll have their photos. Friends or family will use either their magic bands or photo pass cards. I'm thinking their ride photos will only show up if they have magic bands?? We did this a few weeks ago when we were there. I purchased memory maker months before the trip. We had some friends there overlapping our trip so I added them/linked each other to my account while on the trip and it worked like a charm. They could get into MDE and view their pics (along with our pics) while they were there and once their trip was over, I downloaded all pics and will put theirs on a flash drive to give to them. If you decide to get memory maker, purchase it at least a week prior to your trip to be sure all of your photos/videos will be included. Bonus: Disney Springs has a little photo pass studio to take family portraits that's included.

Thanks for the info. Purchased the memory maker already. Trying to link my sister so she can see her son. Where is the Disney springs photo studio? Thanks for the information

I was coming to ask a very similar question! Wanted to make sure I have this set up correctly.

My SIL and BIL are going to Disney the week before us. We check in the day after they check out. We want to share memory maker this trip since it helps them financially.

I actually set up her MDE account and handle all of her planning but she has her own account.

I went under my account and added her entire family to my friends and family list (then I went into her account and accepted the invites).

I have her set to share plans and photos. If this is what I see in my MDE, We're good to go for sharing the Memory Maker correct? I just want to make sure since I've never had to link before. thanks!! image.jpg

So my friends and I had this same situation. Photo Pass and Memory Maker, while related, are actually two separate things. If that is what you see, Jessica will be able to view your photopass photos, and you will be able to view hers. You'll be able to scan either magic band too see pictures. However, unless my friends' and my accounts just weren't linked correctly, as far as actually downloading the pictures is concerned, only the account that actually purchased Memory Maker can download them. You'll have to send her the pictures via e-mail, I think.

It's behind ghiradelli shop, near Lego shop. We wouldn't have known about it but a photo pass photographer told us about it there in Disney Springs.

Yes, I am specifically speaking about sharing Memory Maker. I know only the person who buys the MM can physically download. I want to make sure that photos that she takes during her week are included in the MM photos I can download. I've never linked someone to my MDE before.

We live 10 minutes from each other so I am able to physically go to her house and download the pics for her. I'm not concerned about that. Just want to make sure we are set to be able to "share" the MM. Thanks!

Any cards she gets needs to be add to your account. I've been part of shares before and even if she is linked to you her MDE isn't the account with the memory makers on it. If she adds the cards to her account she can't get the photos on the download. Once the card has be added it can't be added again to a different MM.

Thankfully we were still at Disney when this happened (got cards at the waterpark) and they moved the photos.

If she gets a magic band then all the photos will show up in your MDE account as part of the MM and in hers (just without the ability to download without purchasing MM).

Also only in your (purchaser of MM) can the photos be edited). If any photos are edited in the MDE of the person sharing they won't be part of the MM download. Only the person who purchased the MM can download the photos.

So, I have a question pertaining to this. We arrive on Friday, our first park day will be Saturday. We have a party of 10, and I'm trying to talk the others in to chipping in and sharing MM. All 10 of us are booked in two rooms which are both linked to my account. One room is myself, my mom, and my three boys. The other is my brother, SIL, niece, SIL's sis and her son. I've made fp+ for all of us and dining reservations from my account. If we do purchase MM, would I need to set them up a separate MDE account? Or would their magic bands already be linked with my account and I can just give them all my sign in info?

Best and easiest would be for you to just give them your sign in... Or you just do all the edits and downloads and give them a jump drive of the photos. Everyone is linked on your MDE account right now and all the pictures will show up in your MDE account.

Another memory maker question here! Thanks in advance!

We are a large party of combined families that would like to share memory maker. I understand we will have to enable photo sharing through my Disney experience but when I link them to my account will it also combine ALL of our dining and fastpasses? We are doing quite a bit separately and it would be very confusing to have all of our fastpasses and dining combined while on vacation. thanks you!
