Sharing Memory Maker on Annual Pass

My dad has a new annual pass that includes the Memory Maker perk. With the old PhotoPass+, you could collect lots of different PhotoPass cards with photos on them and add them to the same account. A cast member just told him that his MagicBand would have to be present in order for the picture to be included in his Memory Maker. Does that sound right? I couldn't get photos on my own and add them to his account later?

One of the best parts of PhotoPass+ was that we could include all of our parties photos on one account, even if we weren't together the whole time. If this is true, it sounds like a serious downgrade in the benefits of Memory Maker!

as long as you are "friends" on MDE your pics taken on your bands will show up on his. It can take a bit for the pics to show up and you might have to file a missing photo report a few times if magic bands aren't totally linked as they "should be" but after a few days you will figure out if your band is linked or if you need to do something else. I Found the photo pass people at the deluxe resorts to be most helpful with troubleshooting.

But absolutely friends and family are included in his MM AP pass. My parents are both AP's as am I- but we have different renewal times. My mom's was up in Dec and she was going to just go for silver (FL resident) but I gave her the extra $ to go for Gold (Fl res) so we could all utilize MM. So glad they offer a year solution to us with AP's now!
