Sharing Meals?

Are we allowed to share meals at Disney restaurants? Do they charge extra if we do? I know buffets won't allow it.

If allowed, what are some of the best places to do this?

Are you on the dining plan? If so, then no. If not on the dining plan I would think you could do whatever (other than buffets like you said). I hope so anyway We are going OOP for the first time in July and I plan to share some meals with my daughter. There's just too much food and I hate wasting so much.

That is not true. You CAN share even when on the dining plan at 99% of the restaurants. The only one that definitely/always does not allow sharing on the DDP is Via Napoli. Other than that, even on the DDP, two people can share one meal and use one credit only.

As mentioned, in most cases you can share a meal regardless of payment method. ("Sharing" in this context means using one dining credit to feed two or more people.) You cannot "share" at buffets (e.g., Chef Mickey), all-you-care-to-eat/family style meals (e.g., 'Ohana), dinner shows (e.g., HDDR), fixed priced meals (e.g., CRT), dining packages (e.g., Fantasmic dining package), items that are designed "for two" (e.g., Parrillada at La Hacienda), or at Via Napoli (when on the DDP).

Yes, as long as you paying OOP, you can share at Via Napoli.

My wife and I share nearly every meal at Disney and have never had an issue at any restaurants. We never do the dinning plan, even before we lived here. So there's that. We usually each get a starter then share an entree. Works for us.

We always share meals. There are usually 3 of us so we usually do 2 meals and split them among the 3 of us.
