Hello! Me and my DBF are going to be in WDW about a month from now :cool1: And as far as table service meals go we plan on sharing our meals, mostly because the food portions are so huge, and it saves us money! I know some restaurants dont like you doing this or usually charge you a few more dollars if you plan to share. Are the table service restaurants pretty okay with sharing? (We are not doing the dining plan)

I know the quick service places don't mind, I used to work at a quick service restaurant at the Studios :) Can't wait to go back!

we have shared on occasion and have never had a problem or encountered any attitudes. We sometimes order an app to share and a dinner to share. Then there is usually room for us each to have dessert;)
We almost always share counter service meals.

At buffets or "family style" meals (such as 'Ohana) everyone pays (just noticed no one has mentioned this).

Otherwise, you should have no problems sharing.

My mom and I share meals all the time when we go. We always have the dining plan, and we share so we can have two table service meals a day. There's plenty of food to share between the two of us.

Other than those on the dining plan, I have never read of people having a problem sharing. My daughter and I share sometimes so that we have room for dessert. But it kind of depends on where you eat. The 50's Prime Time has huge portions and is great for sharing. Other places the servings are not as large.

DW and I share pretty regularly if we find something we both want or know we want an app and/or dessert and won't have room to finish a full entree each. Never been a problem (does not apply at buffets or family style). Some of the restaurants have even split the meal in the kitchen for us onto separate plates nicely instead of just bringing an extra plate for us to split ourselves.

I thought if you are on a Dining plan - they do not allow you to share, right??? Can someone please clarify. Thanks.

As usual, no sharing at any buffet, all you can eat family style restaurant, fixed price, fixed menu restaurant (CRT or Akershus) or dinner shows. Everybody over age 3 is required to pay for those.

As for a la carte restaurants, the only ones we have reports of sharing being prohibited on the dining plan are Beaches & Cream and Via Napoli.

I don't do the DDP so OOP and baring buffets we always share something, if not a salad an appetizer or an entre! The only time I recall getting a bit of an attitude was at Le Cellier! There were 4 of us and two us decided to share the NY strip so that we could each have our own bowl of cheddar cheese soup (Feb, it was so cold, 30 degrees) and the waitress said that's all, you aren't going to order another side and I said no, that's all for now and she just looked at me strangely! I don't pay top dollar for food to take it home in a doggy bag, I'd rather share it with someone and eat it all when freshly prepared~

From what I've always read, you can share if the people sharing are both on the dining plan. But you can't share with someone NOT on the plan.
