What do you guys think about this? Will they let you do this? I don't think it's dishonest or unfair in any way (let me know if there's an element I'm overlooking). I will tip extra for the server's trouble.

We are paying for 4 adults with the kids age 10 and 12. There is absolutely no way we can eat 4 appetizers, 4 adult entrees, and 4 desserts. I hate to waste food or cheat the server out of a tip money by not ordering the included food.

I heard that when you check in your meals are added together and child and adult are all together. We have an 8 yr old and it was suggested to us to pay cash for the child meal and save 6 (1 per day) meals to use for adult meals. Did you hear about this?

With the exception of the all you can eat places like buffets you should be fine. You will have to pay extra for a drink if you get 4 but only use 3 meal credits.

FYI we did this at lunch with our kids. Sometimes we would just get two counter service meals for DW and I and split them between all 4 of us. We would bring gatoraid from the room and crystal lite so we generally had enough drinks. The boys got the prepackaged deserts they had so it worked out well. There was no way we could eat 4 counter service meals with deserts on a regular basis.

I hate to ask because of possible flames so feel free to PM me instead. First, Were you on the dining plan? If so, when you ordered the CS meals to split, were they "adult" meals or "kids" meals or didn't it matter?

Yes, but it's not an issue for us because children over 9 are supposed to order off the adult menu in the restaurants.

Let me save some people the troubles.

You should not use child credit for adult meals because -

1) Disney will file bankruptcy and Eisner's stock options will be worth $0.

2) You will cause all restaurants on the dining plan to only offer crackers and water because they are losing all that money.

3) You will cause Disney to start overcharging everything in the parks and resorts, as oppose to now where everything is so reasonably priced.

4) You will cause all mousekeepers to stop making towel animals.

5) It is dishonest and you will go straight to heck.

6) It is immoral and you will go straight to heck.

7) It is not right and you will go straight to heck.

8) Heck, you're going to heck.

Hope this helps.

No problem posting it publicly. We were on the dinning plan and we did get adult meals for the most part. Now before the flame throwers start this was done initially because the kids meals were just so limited. There are a lot of parents that will brag about how thier kids want to have the cold turkey strips and carrots for lunch. Not ours. They want junk food. Burgers, fried food and Pizza. You can't get a kids pizza at Pizza Planet or a kids burger at Pecos Bills. So we basically just got two adult meals and had the kids eat off our plates. We did use the extra CS credits for breakfast meals which if you look at it generally cost about the same as kids meals for lunch so there wasn't much of a savings doing this. We just couldn't have eaten that much food.

I knew there was a reason we didn't get towel animals every day! They were tracking us. :rotfl2:

And number 3 is right on. That $6.75 for a Corona at WDW is such a value price now. Pooling credits would cause the charge outragous prices for items that can be had for $7 / 12 pack on sale.

You are just too funny!

Got it, thanks for your info. :goodvibes I was afraid to ask but felt compelled to since I had not seen a "discussion" (read: flaming torch carrying, ogre chasing pack of villagers who are all going to heck in a handbasket) on CS meals just the nice quite coffee clatches on the TS child/adult credit posts. :rotfl: I assume you were not left with just "child" CS credits midway thru the week.

edited to edit the pp post.

I was wondering the same thing for the sharing opf meals since I know that my soon to be 4 yr old will NOT be able to eat 2 big meals a day!

I'm throwing some water on the flames!lol We did the free dining plan in August and we did share quite a few meals, but not to save adult credits...by the end of the week I was begging to order a kiddie meal since there was so much food. It was more likely that my 2 sons shared a meal or I would split with one of the kids because of all the food. We are purchasing the plan the next planned trip and I will definitely share a few meals.

we will all be on the adult plan so no "kids vs. adult meal" issues but I'm planning on sharing too. 2 CS's for breakfast for the 4 of us and 2 CS's for lunch, then use the snack credits to keep my bottomless pit DS going until TS dinner. I think that will be plenty of food and if we're all starving by TS time, we'll get PLENTY there!!!

Can I get an extra plate at a TS meal? I have a 19mo and she can't be on the dining plan so she is going to share with us and her sister. I just want to know if an extra plate is going to be frowned upon.

Leaving Tuesday Morning!!!!!

from all that I have read and my own experiences (not on the plan) you should not have a problem getting her her own plate to feed her from your meal. Have a great time and let us know how you do!
