I was wondering if you have a vacation package that has wishes (ie,Dream makers silver package). If you use one of your wishes for a meal...can you split that meal with someone else?
The answer is yes and no. According to Disney Dining, each restaurant makes their own policy regarding sharing of wishes (we called during our last trip to ask). We were on a wish package in December and had planned on sharing a wish for lunch every day. While we were able to the first two days, it was such a hassle that we gave up. If you're set on using wishes, you might want to call the restaurant in advance and ask. Or hope that you have an accomodating server!
Something I wanted to ask kinda related to this topic was; When four of us are dining (DD' 5 and 7, DW and myself) can we opt to use wishes for the adults meals and pay for the childrens, or do all at the table have to eat with their wishes if one one does?

I believe that you can pay for the children and use wishes for the adults, but since it's just the two of us I don't know for sure. Maybe someone with some experience with kids on the silver plan can say for sure!

Where I work, this is not a problem as long as you tell the server ahead of time. I don't know why it would be but as I read down someone else stated they did have a problem with it.

Once again, where I work, this is not a problem as long as you tell the server ahead of time. The server would just have to split the check so the wish portion was on one and the kids meals were on the other.

The places where we had problems were not truly Disney-owned restaurants. At House of Blues I was told that their system charges wishes based on the number of people in the party, and they have rules against fudging the number of people in the party. While we were deciding what to do, she told us that she would "take care of it" for us, and she did.
The other place we had problems was at Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom. Our server was not very bright and kept insisting that sharing one wish was not a good use of wishes. I explained it to her three different times and then again when she brought the check. Their checks don't show the balance of wishes remaining, so it wasn't until I got back to the resort that night that I realized she charged us two wishes. No wonder she didn't think it was a good use of wishes! She charged us for two and only gave us food for one. We just explained that to the people at the front desk and they credited our account with a wish.
It was at that point that we decided it wasn't worth messing with every time we ate lunch. We called Disney Dining and they said that it was up to each restaurant to decide if wishes could be shared. Instead of calling each restaurant (this was day 2 of a 14-day trip), we decided not to share wishes any more!
I won't bother trying this....I don't want to have to worry about which place will do what. With my luck I'd hit every resturant that doesn't like doing this. Too much trouble for me to deal with on vacation.
