This may seem like a strange question, but are there any restaurants that have an issue with people sharing Meals? We will not be on any Dining plan.

I've had weight loss surgery so I am unable to eat a lot of food. DH and I are planning our next trip and trying to figure out where we will be eating. The current plan is to order an appetizer, entree and dessert at most places and I will eat 1 or 2 bites of each and he will have the rest.

I know buffet and all you can eat places I will have to pay full price, which I'm OK with, but I know that at places like 50s Prime Time one entree with an appetizer will be more than enough for both of us.

Are there any places that will have an issue with this?

We've never used the dining plan and have always shared meals, except at AYCE/Buffets. Those are the exceptions. Via Napoli, 50's Prime Time, Yak & Yeti, Raglan Rd, etc. have all been accommodating.

I think using DDP at some TS is when sharing become an issue. OOP is more forgiving and we've never encountered objections/attitude/problems.

Also, my girls (now 19 & 21) have been able to order from the kids menu at places like Sci Fi with no problems. The server will just bring a regular sized drink. This works great as the burger is plenty big enough and I'm almost positive that you get a cup of tomato soup appetizer as well as a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert.
On our last visit in December she and I shared at Yak & Yeti and Be Our Guest (CS lunch) as well as Nine Dragons. We have also shared at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Portions are huge at The Plaza i n MK. Also have shared the appetizer platter at the AK Rainforest Cafe and have shared at T Rex too.

I used to share meals all the time when it was just my ex and I. He is not a huge eater and neither am I and appetizer/entree/dessert shared worked really well. Sometimes they would split it in the kitchen, sometimes just bring an extra plate. If you don't want an equal share you might want to mention to your server to please just bring an extra plate rather than splitting it in the kitchen. At 50's primetime the entrees are HUGE. I think they are very used to people sharing there. Part of why I don't want to go there with my son on upcoming trip is I would end up wasting a ton of food.

Another thing I have done is just order a salad off of the Appetizer part of the menu. We ate at Coral Reef last year and I just ordered a plain caesar salad as my meal and had no problems.

My wife and I split meals everywhere and have never had a problem.

I've also shared meals at many of the restaurants in WDW without problems (Yachtsman, Le Cellier, Via Napoli). As mentioned, sometimes they split the entree in the kitchen (so they serve it on two plates) and other times they've just bought out a second plate. Also, as noted, you cannot share at buffets (e.g., Chef Mickey), all-you-care-to-eat/family style meals (e.g., 'Ohana), dinner shows (e.g., HDDR), fixed priced meals (e.g., CRT), or dining packages (e.g., Fantasmic dining package).

My friend and I split a LOT of meals on our trip last October, including our entree at 50's Prime Time. It was always acceptable when we asked, and the waiter/ess always just brought a second plate for us along with the dish.
