Sharing at the TS restaurants.. a few ?

DH and I will most likely do the DxDDP for one night in November before a 3 night stay where we will likely pay oop for food. The best scenario for us would be to share 1 credit (app, entree and dessert) and have me pay oop for an appetizer at each meal. This would be just the right amount af food for us and would cover 2 full days of dining.. Does anyone do this regularly? Is it not allowed anywhere besides Via Napoli? Any "dirty" looks from servers? Another poster has been great advising me on this, I just wanted to hear others experiences. TIA

I've been able to share at most TS locations without any issues. VN, as you mentioned, does not allow this. Any item that says "for two" will require both of you to use credits to order it (i.e., you can't pay for half of it using cash and the other half using a credit).

As normal, you cannot share at buffets (e.g., Chef Mickey), all-you-care-to-eat restaurants (e.g., 'Ohana), fixed priced meals (e.g., CRT), dinnner shows (e.g., HDDR), or dining packages (e.g., Fantasmic! dining package).

Thank you. I really had never thought about it before but reading here I guess it is fairly common. Unless I am with DH I have been avoiding buffets as the amount I eat just does not justify the prices.

Wow I have never heard of this.... can you do this at the Signature Restaurants too? I am still kinda confused though on what your question is. Are you saying hypothetically speaking- if you had the DDP- could you double up your TS to use at Sig Rest. for all nights of your stay- say 6 nights. and 1 person orders just an appetizer?

I think I complicated my question. What I mean to ask is, if I paid OOP for my meals, ordering just an appetizer, can we then use my DDP to be at 6 Sig Rest. for our 6 night stay? I don't eat much due to Gastric Surgery. But we want to try these Sig Rest. we would both be on the dining plan. I would rather eat at 6 Sig Rest then 6 Table service, since I can't eat much. Does this make sense? Please help me LOL!

Yes you are making sense and yes you can do that. The credits are assigned to the room, so they don't care how you use them or who uses them as long as someone in the room is using them.
