Hey guys!

My mom and I are planning our first visit to the Garden View Tea room at the GF during our upcoming trip. We have a 3:40 reservation and then have a dinner reservation the same night at California Grill at 7:20. I have heard that the packages at the Garden View tea room can be quite filling, so we do not want to go overboard and spoil our dinner!

It seems like a good idea to split the Buckingham Palace so that we can try a bit of everything and still not get too full, but would it be frowned upon to share the Buckingham Palace offerings even if the person who does not order the package orders a pot of tea and one item off the à la carte menu (i.e. a scone)? At least this way both of us would be ordering something rather than simply splitting the package.

Thoughts? Should each of us just order à la carte instead?

Thank you! :flower3:

Also- can pastries be ordered à la carte or are they only part of the packages? I do not see them on the à la carte menu on AllEars for some reason...

Your plan to share should work beautifully. Ordering a pot of tea and scones for the second person in your party is an excellent idea. All of the tea sandwiches and goodies could be split so you each get a nibble/taste of everything. They will bring a tray with the pastry selections to your table. We have had no problem paying a bit extra for additional pastries, even though they are not listed a la carte on the menu. We find the servers to be very accommodating. You can each have a different kind of tea. We highly recommend the Eros. We ask to have our tea decanted. (The tea leaves are left in the pot at their tea room. When tea is decanted, it is poured into another pot while straining the tea leaves. If the water is left on the leaves, the tea will turn bitter.)
Tea at the Grand Floridian is a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Walt Disney World. Enjoy your leisure time, the music, flowers, wonderful food, great company and sipping tea.
You can purchase their tea by the tin if you would like to take a bit of the magic home.
Enjoy the afternoon with your mom!

Thank you! This is a mother-daughter trip and we are staying at the GF, so this seems like the perfect opportunity to go. We are both so excited to try it! :goodvibes
