Sharing a meal?

DH will not be with us the entire trip, but we are on the dining plan, so on our last day we will have 1 adult TS and no child TS (we have one child)...

On the last day, we are booked at Sci-Fi...can I use the adult TS and order something and share with my 5 year old (and maybe just order him a drink) or must I order him a kids menu item? In other words, is sharing food allowed?

Sharing is allowed as long as each person is on the dining plan....you should be fine to do this

So you can share a meal at all TS restaurants? I thought a castmember told me you couldn't do that. We are getting free DDP and my DD and I aren't very big eaters. We thought occasionally we would share a TS so that we weren't wasting food. So if I understood correctly, we ARE able to do that?

No, not all TS restaurants. Locations that have an admission fee as opposed to a menu -- buffets, family-style meals, dinner shows, CRT -- require each attending guest 3 and older to pay, whether OOP or with DDP credits.

Also, for some reason, Beaches & Cream is reported to not allow DDP guests to share.

You cannot share at buffets, all you care to eat family style restaurants or if you choose the family style entree on a menu (e.g. skillet at Whispering Canyon Cafe) or the dinner shows (CRT, luau, Mickey's Backyard Barbecue). In other words, if it's a fixed price meal everyone 3 years or older who sits down has to pay, regardless of how much or how little they eat. Perhaps this was what the CM meant.

Beaches N Cream seems to be the one TS restaurant where you cannot share if you're using dining credits to pay.

My daughter and I have shared at TS restaurants. Sometimes we'll add an appetizer for which we pay OOP. And an extra beverage for which we'll also pay OOP.

Thank you. I didn't mean to ask about sharing at dinner shows, etc., just regular TS restaurants. It is good to know that we might have the option of not wasting a bunch of food.
