Sharing a hopper?

Can someone buy a 5 day or so, hopper, or hopper plus, and share it? Do they do the finger scan with these? Friend bought one for more days than she needed and offered it to me. Just wondering?

No, they do not do the fingerscan for Park Hopper passes. They are supposed to be non-transferrable. However, unless your friend has signed the back of the pass and you are asked for ID, there would be no way for the staff at the turnstiles to tell that you were not the person who used that pass on previous visits.

Nobody will question it......you just aren't allowed to resell the days....and you obviously couldn't use it on the same day with 2 different people.

I was sorta wondering about this (within family ofcourse). My situation is 1 day left over on park hoppers for my immediate family (so that's 4 hoppers since my youngest didn't cost at barely 2yrs old) and the next trip we take looks like it's going to end up just being me and my oldest daughter. I have a PAP- but was wondering if she (at age 9) could use the left over days on those park hoppers- as in the child AND the adult ones. So actually they make a little money on doing that- right?
The problem is that we ordered them online before our first trip and picked them up there- has our last name on the back which is not a problem because that's her last name too ofcourse- but they DID scan our fingers. Atleast I know they scanned mine and DH's- I can't remember if they scanned the kids with their tickets too- I don't think so..... but somehow I remember explaining to my son how to get his hand in there just right and keep it still. But maybe I'm imagining that.
But in any case, I know they DID do the finger scans on me and DH the entire time- and they were normal 5 day park hoppers... purchased from Disney- not through any other website/company. So apparently they do finger scan even on park hoppers. So that might create a problem if she's using one of our adult park hoppers with a day left on it?

I am here now at WDW with park hopper tickets and we didn't have to do finger scans.

Disney does not require finger scans on the "regular" park hopper or park hopper plus passes. They never require scans on children's passes (No point to that since the children's "bone density" changes so much as they grow). Finger scan technology is used for APs/PAPs.

Finger Scan Info

There are also some types of "special" hopper passes than also require scans. For example, I believe that many of the Florida resident passes as well as the 30 Day Fun-in-the-Sun passes and the 10 day World Passes use the finger scan technology. Some of those passes do have expiration dates.

I've not heard that Disney is printing names on hopper passes. (I believe names are printed on the 2 Day/2 Park and 3 Day/3 Park ticket combos, however. You cannot hop with those tickets, though). It is possible that Disney prints names on hopper tickets when you purchase tickets in advance and use the "will call" feature to pick passes up at the parks.

Your daughter can use the leftover days on the hopper tickets (assuming they are the "regular" PH or PHP tickets). No one will care if she uses an adult hopper even though she is still entitled to use a child's hopper. I have personally used "leftover" hopper days from family member's previous trips and never once encountered a problem of any kind. Disney does not know who used a particular day on a hopper ticket and I really don't think they care. (Of course, it is not legal to resell unused days and Disney does care about that)!
