sharing a few from my DD's dance open house

Wednesday was open house for my youngest daughters ballet class/team. They are getting ready for the Christmas recital next Saturday. The recital theme this year is "You're a mean one Mr. Grinch".

this last one is how their dance ends - all of the girls are in a formation in the splits. The "grinch" comes up and pushes Emily (my dd) on the head - knocking her over and as she falls there is a domino effect and the other girls all fall as well. It is really cute. And - funny cause there have been many times I have felt like doing that to her as well.

This is her - gosh let me think for a second - this is her 12th year of dance? I think it is 12. She is 15 now and it seems like she has been doing this forever. She is on 4 teams - ballet, jazz, lyrical and hiphop and she is also a part of the dance gallery at her high school. So in total she has 13 hours of dance a week.

She loves it and is starting to get a bit sad as she gets older and closer and closer to being a senior and graduating high school. She doesn't want to stop. Not sure what the future has in store for her, but I am sure dance will be a part of it.

She has recently started to show an interest in photography as well and I gve her my XTi along with 3 lenses and a few specialty filters to play with. She has a pretty good eye and has mentioned taking some photo journalism classes and maybe even studying it in college - so who knows.
