I "celebrated" my new job with buying 2000 Eurodisney shares, and so now I'll apply for the shareholder's club card.
Can't wait to see Salon Mickey with my own eyes!!!!

congratulations- what a great way to celebrate. Obviously we think in similar ways- first thing i bought was a trip for mum and i to DLP! :cloud9:

Great news Sandra

We may see you sometime in Salon Mickey :thumbsup2

I just received a message from the Shareholder's club, and as of today, I am a member.
It wasn't even a computer-generated message, but a personal one, which makes me feel special (I know, sometimes I'm easily pleased!) and a temporary card has been sent today, so that I can enjoy the benefits in December.

I am so happy now!

BTW, for my new job, I'll have to be once in a while around Paris for training. I think I'm going to buy a year pass, and then spend the day before and after the training at Disney.
Or on a weekend where I'll have nothing better to do, take my company car, and go for a day (or two days)

You'll see, the share price will rise, now that i'll go more often (and spend lots of money there, oops)

:) :) :) :)

Congratulations! :cool1: I know this is a cheeky thing to ask but would anyone tell me what the minimum number is that you can buy and approximately how much they cost.

Sarah the minimum you can buy to become a paid member of the shareholder club now is 500 shares. Free membership with 2,000 shares.
You'll need to buy through a broker or bank that can deal in shares only listed in the Paris Stock Exchange. The price is at a low of €0.06 per share.

Sandra...what a nice way to start a new job !!! :thumbsup2

I just read the benefits . Here's a link:

Thinking that we will be there for 5 nights...maybe these 2000 would be a good investment. Even if we go even...it's such a great feeling when you buy or eat at a rest. and then get 10 or 15% off the total !!

How fast did you get your card ? or at least the temporary one ?

Thanks Elaine.. I got so excited when I read about the shares..that I forgot about dinner...my DH was not too happy !! :teeth: So I left my reply before open...and then changed it since I had found the same link you gave me !!

It sure sounds like something to take into consideration !!

I just hope my bank can purchase them !!

Thanks again Elaine .

I paid a whopping 160 EUR for the 2000 shares + bank costs. I scanned and emailed all the paperwork on Friday afternoon, with a note in the email explaining that I'm going to DLP before the 6 weeks needed to get the card, and asked them what they could do for me.
They replied that they have already mailed a temporary card and a welcoming pin (woohoo!) (hopefully the post works a little better now than last week  )

We have already booked our trip, and didn't use the discount for the hotel and park hoppers, but we got 15% anyways through the DLP-website.
I'm especially excited about the Salon Mickey!

I got my card about two days after my temporary card arrived. I think that from registering and recieving the pin and card was only about two weeks in total, no where near the six weeks they quote.

Hi Sandra...thanks to you DLP is has more money...and my bank account about €160 less ! :rotfl:

I want to tahnk you for sharing your news with us...becuase if not I would have never ever thought of buying the shares...8 I just have to get my DH to sign the order form...the bank bought it under my DH name...even if we have same bank accounts...but still! ) Now..I only have to tell him to sign the sheet...I better have dinner ready when he gets home and NOT be on the DIS board :rolleyes1 ...

I spoke this morning with a girl in Paris, Vittorina, whom was very, very kind and helpful. It was a pleasure to speak with her. She even suggested that while my DH and girls are in Salin Mickey having something to drink, I can run over and get the fast passes !! I had never thought of it.

I roughly saw that with the meals that we have booked and the discount we will get, and maybe what we will buy at the stores ( don't know how much we'll spend :teeth: )...but it wil probably break even on the cost of the shares and the discounts. Of course we can always use it for the next 2 years to continue getting discounts ! The only thing is that I can't use it towards my hotel payment....I will call DLP booking line and ask them !

When we get back, I'll let you know how much we saved !! Plus just the thought of being able to go to Salon Mickey !! :-) :Pinkbounc ...so Sandra, thanks again !!

You're welcome, but that is what these boards are for. I learned about the Shareholder's club in January, about 6 days before I left for DLP. I didn't have the time to buy the shares then, and wouldn't have gotten all the paperwork ready in time anyways, but now I was ready for the action, lol!

We didn't wait to book our rooms and passes, because Disney has the 15% reduction for about everyone right now, but I'm also happy when I think about all the discounts I'll get in the restaurants and the stores, especially because I like to enjoy a nice table service dinner in Manhattan or so, with some nice wine, and because I like to buy expensive collectibles.
This will be an extra incentive for me to visit the Resort every time I'll have to go to Paris for work, even if it's just to buy a pin or eat a burger at the Village, lol!

I think we are both about as excited about this!
And doesn't it feel good to know that 2000/I don't know how many-th from DLP belongs to YOU! ;)

Congratulations Martina! :dance3:  :cheer2:  :dance3:

We always stay offsite therefore do not benefit from hotel discounts but the money we have saved buying meals and souvenirs over our three trips has more than covered the cost of the shares!

I love the special feeling of owning a little bit of DLRP, even if it is probably as small as a blade of grass! :rotfl:

There are 3,897,649,046 Euro Disney SCA shares, so a 2000 share holder (which I guess most of us are) owns 0.00005% of Eurodisney SCA. Sadly, we do not own the grass - that is owned by Euro Disneyland S.N.C., which is a separate entity. Euro Disney SCA leases the land from SNC.

Maybe, all of us DIS-eurodisney shareholders together, own one of Minnie's dresses...

Just for the record.
I got a discount of 240 Euro only on our hotel this year.
That more than the shares cost.
