Has anyone brought disney paris shares through halifax?

I set up an account on thursday and you needed to pay min of £100, I added the details and set up the account. When i went in, its showing as £0 funds? can anyone help.

This happened to me so i put the money in again because i didn't think it was there but then it appeared so i had twice the amount in!:confused3 its easy enough to transfer it back just 1 click , all i can suggest is try that or to give them a ring in the morning they are quite helpful! sorry i have nothing more useful to tell you! Good luck!

Have you seen this thread? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2799143&highlight=shares
yes you have you have posted lol

Thank you, How long did it take for the money to go in?

Yes i have sent the share post :)

I will see if I have enough funds to put another £100 in.

When did the rest go in that you put on first.

It might be because your bank account doesn't have faster payment, so it may take up to 3 days to show on the Halifax account

the same thing happened to me, I clicked to add £100 to open the account but as i already had another account with them they opened the account without taking the £100 i then worked out how much i needed for my shares and just transfered that much in. xx Good luck xx
the shares was the best thing i ever bought!! :goodvibes

After getting fed up of waiting i decided to try and add £100 but it crashed when it was trying to put payment through. So i contacted web chat to find i had no pending payments to go into my account and that they could add the £100 there end which they did.

Anyway they then said if i did an international deal i have to leave 10% into my account. So i may not have enough for the 20 shares? GRRRRRRRRRR

I tried to buy some a little while ago and it said that i cant trade outside the hours of 8.30am-4.30pm but i see that some shares seem to have been brought outside the hours?

I am getting all confussed, can anyone help me.

You won't need to leave 10% in as you are not buying in the amounts they are talking about. You cannot buy outside trading hours as the stock markets are closed so they cannot carry out the trade.

If you are buying through Halifax see if they are stil do the £5 commission on Fridays rather then pay the full amount.

Yes I am with Halifax, will try and buy shares on Friday :) when I looked at buying the shares it wouldn't allow me to spend over £90 but I have £100 in the account. So when looking it said something about you have to leave 10% in for international shares?? It's more confussing than I thought.

Ignore that, the 20 shares should not cost more the £100 including commission. Just put in how many you want to buy then go through the process.

I just opened my account and the money went straight in - I put in £150 just in case and will transfer it back to my account once I've done the deal. I couldn't find the £5 Friday offer - is it a separate button or something:confused3 I plan on buying mine on Friday to make sure I get my card in time for Christmas shopping in the Disney store;)

I put £110 in and spent £98 inc friday fee, the fee only comes up as £5 at the last minute. It was quite easy - good luck x :thumbsup2

The friday £5 charged automatically, I actually found at one stage it said £17.50 (I was a little scared - but carried on)! it came through fine with a £5 charge, hope this helps x :thumbsup2

My order has been executed:banana: Now what?:confused3

There should be a link on the right hand side (when you view your account) when you click on it you will see your contract note, print it out.
Then goto Disney shareholder page, complete, print and sign the application form.
Then post the contract note and the application form off to them.
I received email confirmation with my membership number within 3 days !
HTH x :thumbsup2

I got the e-mail notification but could only find the link on the left which says do you want to change your e-mail. I'll go abck and have another look! Thanks

ETA - printed off the dealing history, filled in the form but then it says print-outs not accepted :headache: It also would not accept my e-mail (presumably as I had an account before) so i had to use my DH's. Why is it all so difficult?

Try ...
My statements/dealing history/(you may need to select a date range here/then on the right there should be a 'reference' column, click on the link, this will give you the contract note to print. They accepted my internet print out.

If you think you already have an account, can you ring them to check ? I guess the shares and shareholder account application would need to be in the same name ? Can you try to do a new membership application online just using your christian name initial ? just an idea - worth a try ??? :confused3

Good luck x :thumbsup2

Has anyone bought shares through Halifax's ISA account? Is it worth doing or is the potential tax too small to make it worth any extra effort?
