I'm still looking for a suitable way to invest DD2's £250 child trust fund money and after being on selftrade this morning to try and buy my own shares I noticed that you can open a CTF with them. Does anyone know if I could work it to my advantage and use the £250 CTF to buy my daughter shares in EuroDisney and then as all the correspondence would be addressed to me I could then join the shareholders club? (I'm guessing it will all be addressed to me anyway as that's how it works with DS's CTF stuff)

Any help/advice much appreciated.

When I spoke to Selftrade about buying shares in my DD (16) name, I was told she couldn't buy shares as you have to be over 18. Even having now bought shares in my own name, I won't be able to transfer them over to her later on, because they are foreign stock. They can only be transferred to a spouse.

Now I am assuming that if you were to buy stock using your child's fun, then the stock would be in your name, but I could have that wrong. It might be worth a call to Selftrade to see what they say, I found them extremely helpful!
