Shared resort buses?

Are buses shared among the deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World? I just called member services and was told no. However, I am practically certain that some bus routes are shared. For example, I believe the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian all share a bus to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Also, I think the Boardwalk shares with the Swan and Dolphin.

Am I correct?

Yes they are shared with other resorts in the area.

I do know thatThe Boardwalk shares with the Dolphin,Swan, Yacht and Beach Clubs. I do not know about the rest.

AKL is the only deluxe resort that does not share with another although it has its own two internal stops.

BW shares with Swan and Dolphin (making 3 stops), YC shares with BC (making two stops), and sometimes all those share one bus (making 5 stops).

The MK resorts seem to change more often than others so I am not sure what the current sharing is. For a while it was GF with WL and Poly with Cont, and sometimes you get three of those sharing.

It would be nice if the info you got from MS was true and described a new system but chances of that being true are about the same as the chances of Disney's lowering all its ticket prices.

We have wanted to stay at BC and WL and Boardwalk but due to the bus issues we much prefer Kidani first on and first off

Thanks everyone! I am thrilled to know that I did not create a false memory :cool1:

This past weekend, I knew I saw shared service between the three monorail resorts and shared Boardwalk service.

Again, thanks for the confirmation. The woman in member services really seemed to think I was crazy. I was just trying to figure out which resort had the most direct service so I could plan my next trip.

As always, my fellow board members have come through!

The people that work at MS probably can't afford to stay at a deluxe resort so they might not know. :sad1:

I think this is the worst out of all the bus trips.

We have gone to eat a few times at Koussina and had to take the bus there.

OMG! This trip takes forever. Although I have not rode on every line, this one was pretty bad.

Also at times if MS is really busy or a weekend or holiday some calls are outsourced, so that person could be working from home and never even been to Orlando.

Wow, that's a rather obnoxious and probably incorrect opinion you have of probably a few thousand strangers. Just sayin':confused3

Prior to buying we stayed at the Poly, Cotemporary, Port Orleans, CBR and Pop. We loved the Poly but it was really not so nice to use the buses if we wanted to go to HS or AK we did not like POR or CBR due to the buses. We stayed at POP and loved it. No buses to share not very long to get to 3 parks. We then bought DVC and had a choice of BLT and AkV and AkV hands down. I have seen buses stop at the lodge and have to leave people because they are full and that is only one stop what about resorts with multiple stops no thanks.

SSR and OKW did not share either. they do have multiple stops - but time wise they are not alot longer than AKV

I don't think having the experience of staying on Disney property is a prerequisite for becoming a MS CM. It certainly helps, but I'm sure it's not required.

Yep, it's crazy long. It seems that sometimes you go to a destination on a BW/S/D bus only to have to first stop at those non-Disney owned resorts on the way back because they switched to a 5 resort bus route.

Even more fun when you go to DHS via boat then leave on the afternoon only to find you have to stand on a bus stopping at the Swan, then Dolphin, then Yacht, then Beach, then finally Boardwalk due to a potential storm stopping boat service.
Overall I think bus service at AS Sports was better.

Wilderness Lodge actually shares the buses that goes to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios with Grand Floridian, and the buses to/from Epcot, and buses from Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios with Fort Wilderness. At least that was the case last week.

Whenever I'm going by bus to BWV, and it stops first at the Swan, I just get off the bus there and make the short walk over to BWV. (Rather than stay on the bus thru stops at Dolphin, Yacht, Beach, then BW.)

Yep, same. Plus no bus at all to EPCOT and DHS-cant beat it. :thumbsup2

Unless it is storming, or they think it will storm. Then the boats are stopped and you have to take a 5 resort bus, ow walk in the rain.
On my most recent trip at BWV, I left DHS twice in the afternoon on a standing room-only Bus that first stopped at the other 4 locations. :(

Have never seen the boats stopped, but have seen that WDW buses have crashed with injuries. Anyway we are rain walkers at WDW (sometimes all day) regardless. Certainly b4 waiting for buses. :beach: Plus I would still get off at S&D and walk over the bridge to BWV first off.

Walking in rain at WDW happens quite often actually.
