I used to not wear my glasses when I went out walking. I see pretty good but fine detail is fuzzy at distance. One day I was walking along a highway a little way out of town. Up ahead I saw a large black dog sitting on the side of the road. It looked like a rottwiller type dog. I crossed 4 lanes of traffic to get on the other side of the highway from it.

When I got even with it I realized it was a black plastic garbage bag from where the city cleanup crew had picked up trash on the highway. I felt like an idiot being scared off by a garbage bag.

Now I wear my glasses. The view is better to.

Ok guys help me out here I know silly stuff has happened to some of the rest of you. Ok I'll go first again.


One time long ago, before Erica found me wandering, lost, confused and alone and took me in to nurture. (She has a history with strays.)

This happened when I was stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. I took off for a run in the desert. There are some narrow roads crisscrossing around out there with ditches on both sides. I was just jogging along zoned to the music on my Sony Walkman, when I felt a whack on the back of my head. It wasn't to hard but it knocked me off into the ditch.

A big dump truck with those long mirrors had come by and the corner of a mirror had whacked me and knocked me off in the ditch. It wasn't to bad till I hit the ditch. This was the windy season and the tumbleweeds had pilled up in the ditch. Now for those of you who don't know this, tumbleweeds are dried up THORN bushes that are blown about by the wind. Well I landed splat in a big pile of them.

I'm sure I was a sight sitting out on the side of that desert road saying evil things about that truck driver and all his ansestory while plucking thorns out of my arms and legs.
