Well, I currently hold two ressies that are only a few $$$ apart...one is with Alamo and the other is with Thrifty. I've read a lot of the posts about Alamo service and I was just curious what everyone's experiences with Thrifty have been...(condition of car, service, ease of returns, transportation to/from airport, etc).

Thanks! :thanks:

I rented for the first time from Thrifty in April at the Tampa Airport. They are right on site there and had the best rate for an SUV. I was going to Sarasota for a "girls" week with my friends. Everything was great. The only little issue was that we prepaid for a tank of gas, which we knew we would use and which was much less per gallon than the going rate, but when we got in the car, I noticed it was only about 3/4 full. I mentioned this when we dropped off the car and got a refund for that amount of gas. No argument whatsoever from the agent. :thumbsup2 I looked into Thrifty for our recent Orlando trip, but I didn't reserve because they are not onsite and ended up getting a good rate with National Emerald Aisle.

I also hold a res at both. How close is Thrifty to the airport??? I thought it was on-site

You have to take a shuttle from the Airport to the Thrifty Car lot to pick up you automobile. It's about a 10 minute shuttle ride. Thrifty has some pretty good rates right now for October. I have a 9 day rental booked for the end of Oct for 188.00 all taxes included. This is for a mid-size.

I guess the only hassle is moving your luggage on the shuttle to the Thrifty lot.

I booked Thrifty this past Dec/Jan. We picked up in Tampa and dropped at MCO. The drop off was easy to find and about 1.5-2 miles from MCO.

We were due to arrive in Tampa just before Midnight on Christmas Day, however due to delays we didn't arrive until 1:30 am. They had had a scheduling issue (this is in Tampa) and didn't have the Jeep Grand Wagoneer we had reserved. They upgraded us to a mini-van. I booked my ressie thru SWA and got a really good rate. When I got all the paperwork from Thrifty the rate was $600 vs the $200 I had on my confirmation.

It took them a few minutes to find someone to correct the issue but they did and they told us they would comp the gasoline and to bring the car back as empty as possible, which we did :thumbsup2

My best advice is to have your printed confirmation with you and have an extra copy to provide to them if necessary.

Other than this, no issues and in our eyes they made everything right without a lot of hassle so I am booked with them again for Dec/Jan this time pick-up and drop-off will be at MCO. The biggest hassle is them being offsite
