I was just putting my two Disney shopping lists (To buy before the trip, and to buy at WDW) into my crazy, nerdy spreadsheet, and thought it might be fun if we shared our lists here!

My To Buy at Disney List:
Pick a pearl in Japan (and setting, if I can find an affordable one that I like)
New purse from China
New Lucky Cats (You're supposed to "retire" them after a year")
Pocky from Japan
Some kind of Everest souvenir (I remember some cute Yeti stuff last year)
Carved animal in Mexico (this has been on my list for years, but I'm holding out for just the right one!)

To buy before trip:
New Crocs (either Beach, or Mary Janes, if they're comfy) My old ones are getting worn out!
Sunblock

Wow, that's all that's on my pre-trip list so far! I'm surprised!

What's on your list/lists?

LOL I've been making both lists myself today. First, what are Lucky Cats? I love cats...is there another item I have to add to my list? Hehe. Anyway, on to my lists :

Before Trip -
*Pedometer (want to try and keep track of walking distance this trip)
*New camera bag (need a big bag for everything to get on the plane)
*line patch cable (so I can connect my audio devices to the recorder so I can record attractions)

At WDW -

*Scrapbook stuff - I want to get a 2006 scrapbook album, a castle punch, and a few packs of the Capture the Magic paper (Christmas, Theme Park Icons, Thrill Rides)

*Monorail toy or snowglobe - I really like my Cinderella Castle playset (it's about 20" tall), and would like to get another piece from the set to put next to it. However, the selection is pretty limited, and the monorail toy would be nice (though expensive) but I think it would look weird going around the Castle. Last time I went I wasn't as impressed with the other park icons (SSE, Tree of Life), so instead I may just buy a nice snow globe instead. Either way, I want at least one neat decorative item for my memento table in the living room.

*Villian or other accesory set for Castle - especially if I don't get another playset, I'm going to pick up some of the little figures that go with it. The castle came with the princesses and princes, but I'd love some villians to mix it up with. I've been building little colored lights for it (the ones that come with it stink and aren't bright at all) and would love to have an "evil" theme and a "good" theme to turn on or off.

*Christmas pins, Nemo pin - I want to get a pin when I go to MVMCP, and maybe one for the new Nemo ride. Since I'm going to be spending money on scrapbook supplies this time, I think I'll be buying only a couple of pins (unless i find some neat new pins of the Evil Queen from Snow White, my favorite character).

LOL yes, I'm a freak. But that was fun to share!

I can't believe I left scrapbook stuff off my list! Duh!

The Lucky Cats are sold in Japan and China- each color is supposed to bring you luck in a different area (such as money, health, romance). Here's a picture of a few of mine:

luckycats.jpg

The pink one was $2.50, the big white one was $5.95, and the small white one was $3.00. The two on the left are from Japan, the one on the right from China.

At those prices, you've convinced me!

I actually have a set of two cat knick-nacks that belonged to my grandmother that are on the table with my Castle as well...one of those would look great there! Thanks for the idea. Adding it to my list right now.

This thread might be dangerous, you know. ;)

I love them because they're something I can pick up on every trip for generally less than $5 each!

(The picture shows them a little larger than actual size, btw)

I figured they were small, for those prices at WDW, LOL. I think they'd make great gifts as well. I usually like to give the little candle holders in Italy, but I know a few people who would enjoy them.

It's funny, but the list I posted above was "my" list, i.e. my selfish stuff. I also have a few gifts to get :

*Christmas Ornament from MK for Mom
*Park-themed beach towel for niece to take to swimming lessons - I buy one every trip (Everest if they have one - she's looking forward to our trip next year for her first ride and would love one now)
*Pair of Mickey ears with a new baby's name in them - I'm actually bringing a post-paid box to send these directly from WDW

Quite a few things this time...I usually don't shop so much, but this time I have a number of things on my list that are "musts".

We're not even 100% sure yet what out major purchases will be, we have to see when we get there . . . we're redoing our living room to be WDW-themed, so I want a litho from each park, as well as something to hang on the wall scupturewise from each park (like a mask from Animal Kingdom, a small gong from the WS, etc). Alternatively I heard there's some prints of "ride advertisements", so it might be that instead for decorations. :confused3

Beyond that, we know we're getting at least one sculpture along the lines of the "When Walt's Away" one, an autographed picture of a movie character to go with the other two from Disney we have, and I need SOMETHING Miyazaki from Japan. Maybe many somethings. :lmao: My daughter wants something Tinkerbell, and the DH is threatening to buy out the whole Muppets store.

There a few things I wished I had picked up when I was there last time so will be getting this time like:

-a chocolate rose Beauty and the beast style, thought they were so cute
-Yoda and Jedi Mickey set of figures
- a mickey bag, its over the shoulder, hand luggage size and so gorgeous
-a xmas ornament
-a piece of the monorail set, every time I go I want to start collecting and never do, not this time!
- a ton of WDW Potato Head parts for DS

Thats the list so far, I'm sure I'll think of more to add ;)

The actual cars or the playsets? If so, I highly recommend the Cinderella Castle. I'm looking at it right now. :) Be careful though, there are two - a clear plastic pink looking Disneyland one, and a classier looking Cinderella Castle one. I have the latter.

I really want to buy more of them, but many of them don't impress me. One I'd REALLY like would be the Haunted Mansion one (even though it's not a great replica - it's a combination of the WDW and Disneyland exteriors, which are completely different), but I hear that one isn't available in the stores and is only on eBay now.

SSE and Tree of Life didn't impress me much...what I'd like to go is get the Contemporary Resort and a monorail car/track, but that would set me back $100. Perhaps if I cut out scrapbook supplies, LOL.

It's funny, 'cause this next trip is supposed to be a budget trip, but there are a ton of things I feel I *must* get on this trip, when normally I buy very little.

Some of these I've stolen from previous posts. I didn't realize I "needed" that much stuff from WDW!

1. Shot glasses - last March I bought a four pack from Studios that had one each of Tower of Terror, Disney-MGM Studios (with Earfful Tower), The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Some drunken fool broke the RnR one, so I need to see if they sell them individually.

2. Drum sticks from RnR - I've always wanted some and never bought them.

3. Tink earrings - I have a tendency to lose earrings, so I need new ones.

4. A Chinese umbrella with my name written on it.

5. A lucky cat - I had never heard of these, but WDW Poly Princess convinced me!

6. Something from Morrocco - don't know what yet.

7. Pins - I don't have anything specific in mind. I'd love to get a Beast pin, but I've yet to see one sold in the parks.

8. Scrapbooking stuff.

9. Embroidered Mickey/Minnie ears for a co-worker and both of my cousin's kids.

10. Christmas ornaments.

11. Random fun from the Muppets shop.

Be careful! Make sure your Crocs say "Made in China" on the tag. If they are made in Mexico, they are JUNK! I had a pair last year that was made in China and LOVED them! They conformed to my feet, felt awesome and not one blister.

Fast forward to this year when I bought the same kind, same color, same brand and did not realize they were made in Mexico. They did not conform to my feet, they never felt all that comfortable, and to top it off, I had blisters all over my feet shortly after I started my WDW vacation.

I put out a "warning" thread about this a short while back and found others had experienced the same. Here is the thread.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1229788&page=1&pp=15

Now, back to your OP: My shopping list includes:

1) T-shirts

2) Toys for my fur babies

3) WDW plastic drinking glasses

4) Mickey Mouse/Minnie Mouse ankle socks

5) Pajamas or t-shirt gown

6) Scrapbook (photo album)

7) Mini-photo album for desk

8) Something from Animal Kingdom to add to my Animal Kingdom-themed bathroom

:wave2:

first off the crocs comment has me concerned i need a new pair, hopefully i will get a p air as awesome as the pair i have now!

as for purchases:

Me:
* a scrapbook album with WDW on it (price depending)
* a 1/4 zip pull over or a zip up sweater or a jean jacket
* mr potato head parts
* watch
* new hat to wear while there
*new pens

For the Kids:
* mickey ears embroidered
*fun hat to wear the week we are there if they don't want to wear the ears (*they are for their room for decoration)
*earrings for dd
* clock or watch for ds
*autograph books and pens for each

then of course there are all the splurge purchases. only 52 days, I can't wait!

How funny that we think about these things so far in advance!I too have a small list in mind for May trip.

Scrapbooking stuff
Snowglobe to remember the trip by
Pal Mickey (really want one this time)
Disney photo frames
New mug

I'm also really hankering after a nice ring from world of Disney-already saving up as i know they are so expensive.

Mine is pretty simple. As much as will fit in my car, along with my luggage, when the trip is over.

If the car ain't packed to the top the morning we're leaving, we hit DTD until it is.

If anyone else feels this way, the 4,500-piece Lego Star Wars Death Star found at DTD in the Lego store will accomplish this easily.

Yay! Shopping lists! I love making lists! I was never inclined to buy stuff at Disney before, but there a couple of things I saw a few weeks ago I'd like to buy when we go back in December:

Nephew - Mickey t-shirt, Lego
Me - another Mickey tea cup (those that look like the bottom part of Mickey or Minnie - couldn't find a link to show you guys what I am talking about), Mickey polo-shirt, Christmas ornament.
DH - he decided he is quite secure in his masculinity to wear a Mickey tie. We saw a couple silk ties that were actually rather nice.

A little off top - I was pleasantly surprised to find some preppy-looking clothing at various stores, specifically, at Downtown Disney. I don't like shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops and was happy to find that Disney caters to different tastes - plenty of dress shirts, ties, polo shirts, leather jackets etc..

Me
sweatshirt or sweater
pearl in Japan
Mickey ears (we are going to do a family photo for our Christmas cards)
Christmas ornaments
jewelry
Some kitchen stuff

DH
wants nothing, LOL!! He will be getting ears and whatever else

DS
Mickey ears
Pal Mickey
Sweatshirt
Potato Head parts
rice krispie Mickey heads for preschool class
We will also send a couple things home to be from "santa"
I'm sure he'll also get some other things with his own Disney dollars!

I am soo glad to find out that I am not the only one who thinks about a WDW shopping list.

Here is mine:

1. Pearl from Japan
2. Something from China
3. Cats from Japan and China
4. clothes for Pal Mickey
5. Christmas decorations
6. watch or jewelry
7. photo frame
8. Larry Dotson print

What a great idea.....

Me:

Pearl from Japan
MVMCP Sweatshirt
MVMCP Pin

DH:

Probably a shirt or something You never know with him

DS:

Mickey ears (can you believe we forgot these last time)
Lanyard
Pins
New Disney jacket
Sweatshirt
T-shirt

For the family as a whole:
MONORAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christmas ornaments

We will bring back some sort of small gift for the kids in DS's preschool class too but not sure what just yet
