To all our friends at the photography board: have a very merry Christmas!

My good buddy Furgus did a lot (to be read as ALL) editing on these. A stranger took the picture. Not to shabby if I do say so.

So now we know what a confessed lens-licker looks like. :teeth:

I haven't even started ours yet... it's shameful. When we do, they'll just be generic ones - maybe next year I'll have some time to make custom ones. I spent last night wrapping presents and making a homemade tripod strap to prepare for our WDW trip. :) At this rate, who knows if we'll even get any done this year... again... Did I mention that it's shameful?

I tried for almost a month to get all the kids together for a single picture shot. Didn't happen, so that's why I had to make the colouge (sp).... next year :)

Here is the pic we used for our Christmas card this year.

Fitzperry, Your pictures are beautiful. May I ask what camera you use?

Thank you so much! I have a Nikon D70, and I really enjoy using it!

I don't have a scan of the card itself, but this is the photo we used the last time we did Christmas cards. We've since given up on Christmas cards and substitute our Year In Review slideshows instead.

The picture is a fake. Even with the stabilized panning mode on the lens, I have trouble getting even marginally decent panning shots. Instead, I copied the kids and the sled to a separate layer and motion blurred the background.

If you're so incredibly bored that you want see how our year in review slideshows, they are:

2005
2004
2003
2002

We will, of course, be posting a new one in a few weeks.

Last August while walking from the DTD bus stop to the marketplace for our Bippity Boppity Boutique appt we passed this setup that just screamed "Christmas Card"
It was a bit warm for the family to be thinking Christmas, but being the plan ahead photographer I am (and being too lazy to set the xmas tree up in November), here it is.

Don't they just look overwhelmed with the Christmas spirit?
The boy look like he just escaped from a wax museum. :rotfl:

We're already planning on doing this for our Christmas card next year if we make it to WDW. We take our picture there every time we visit :)

We used that one last year...
good choice...

If I may be so bold as to speak about fitzperry ....

Her photos are beautiful, to be sure. But it is my opinion that they are beautiful because of her "eye" and her artistic and technical skills. Those photos are not beautiful because of her camera. Any camera in normal working order could have taken those shots. With notable exceptions for things like depth of field, subjects-in-motion, and low light settings, a convenience store disposable camera can take photos just as beautiful as a $1,000 high-tech number.

A good photographer, like fitzperry, can take great shots with any camera. Again, there are boatloads of effects that require some help from some gizmos that aren't available on all cameras, but for the most part, the photographer is responsible for 99% of a photo's quality.

Eye, schmy. Anyone with daughters that cute could take great pictures.

:rotfl2: Now see, I'm not sure whether to be flattered at the comment about my daughters or offended that my photography skills have been dissed. ;) They are great subjects though, at least when they cooperate.
