I want to do the same thing and save money on a bus but I"m afraid that the guests will not know where the wedding pavilion is, they might get lost, might not make it to the ceremony on time, etc. i know there are signs everywhere but aren't you afraid some of the guests might now make it?
Are most of your guests driving or renting cars? Maybe you could make them a map and include it in your welcome bag so they won't get lost? If they are using WDW Busses it would be hard to get lost bc they would just go to a park then catch a bus to the GF then walk to the WP.

wow this is informative and kind of duanting. we will probably have between 15-25 people and we are going to try to stay under 9000.

well in essence im going to try to stay around 9 grand. DF is going to save uup for our down payment on a house so that after we get married we can put 20% down on a house..... now if i had the house down payment budget i could really do things but a house would be a more lasting venture...lol :lovestruc

Are you having a wishes or escape wedding?

I got my estimate from my planner yesterday, and came in at $94 under budget so far!! YAY. I am still waiting for floral, but will post that them I get it. You can check it out in detail here.

Does anyone have an Escape budget for just 5 people, or a small number of people?

When we do our VR it will just be the 5 of us, me, DH, and 3 DD's.

I am just curious how possible it is to stay close to the min. requirement, especially when it is just the 5 of us.....

There is no minimum for a an Escape, it's a complete package for either $4750 (SBP, YCG, Canada Pavilion, etc.) or $5750 (Wedding Pavilion)...includes, photography, limo, cake, champagne, boutonniere, brides bouquet, violinist, etc.

Thanks Daisygirl903 for posting your budget - with upgrading to a wishes I am a little concerned at what my new budget will be and this really really helps :thumbsup2

The Canadian Pavilion is actually $5894.91 and includes everything as listed above plus a 6 hour motor coach.

Personally, I think this is the most informative thread in this section of the boards. :goodvibes Love it!

There is a $7500 minimum for an escape if you marry on a weekend or want a private event such as a reception or dessert party.

This is the best thread i am thinking of having an escape wedding but it will be just me and my DF so some of you other dissers out there may get an invite....

We are having a wishes wedding on 8.8.11

We obviously do not have our BEO yet; however when we go for our planning session this August we are timing the travel between our hotel room blocks and our wedding locations. We are having our ceremony in the WP and the cocktail hour and reception in the Contemporary. We are not planning on using Disney transportation for our guests...only a one way limo for the guys then loop back and pick up the girls to the WP. We plan on utilizing the monorail as much as possible (this is also where we plan to get some photos) and instructing our guests how to make the best use of the monorail. I will post our time trials on here when I return from WDW this August! HTH anyone who is questioning Disney Transportation!

I saw that some who have had an Escape wedding had more than the max of 20 people - how is that possible? :confused3

we're having a VR next April and I am planning our guest list. I've been trying to keep it under 20 (which I was told would include us as the "bride & groom") but I'm having some difficulty since the age is 3 & up to be considered a "guest" for the ceremony. We're having it at the WP.

I have a friend who has 5 kids (between the ages of 1 - 7) and if I include them AND all the others on the list I'm looking at around 23-24 people (including us). Can that be done?

Obviously I haven't talked to the planner yet (because I don't have one yet) - have to wait for the "lottery" in August. It's a month off but I'm trying to figure out guest list vs budget.

Thanks!! Didn't mean to hi-jack the thread!

You can pay an extra $500 and have up to 25 guests including the bride and groom, for an escape wedding.

Really? :goodvibes Thank you so much! That definitely will make planning easier. Now watch - my friend with the kids won't be able to make it after all and I've stressed over nothing. :lmao:

thanks again for the info!
