With the onset of the BBQ season and a unsued bottle of Mountgay rum, ithough at first perhaps I should post a request for rum cocktails abd thought, hey, why just....rum, let see them all?

btw...any good rum cocktailes

Can't beat a Cuba Libre - half and half Rum and Coke with a good splash of fresh lime juice and a wedge of lime - if only I had some coke!

I got a taste for traditional Rum Punch in Barbados last Easter. There's a great little rhyme that sums up the ingredients...

One of Sour
Two of Sweet
Three of Strong
And Four of Weak

...which translates as
1 measure of lime juice
2 measures of sugar syrup
3 measures of rum and
4 measures of water!

It has to have a little grated nutmeg over the top when you serve - delish!

You make it - it's just a simple syrup, 1 part sugar 1 part water. Make sure not to whisk or boil too hard as this creates air bubbles in the syrup...
