I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this, but I helped make someone's day yesterday. We went to AK early before our flight out and upon leaving I grabbed FP for Everest and gave them to another unsuspecting family :thumbsup2 When I asked them if they were going to ride it, they looked at me like, "Why???" When I handed them the FP they were thrilled. Just a thought for others to share the Disney magic!

This is great! I've given away arcade cards with money still on them and unused FPs before but never thought of gettting some expressly for that reason. How fun!

My DH loves to do that all the time as well. He will get FPs thinking we would use them later, but when we decide that we can't then he loves to see the reaction of the people he is giving them to. It does make me really happy too seeing that we are making other people's day.

I tried this one time at Peter Pan. It was late at night and the stand-by line had a wait of 80 minutes. We had 2 extra FPs, so I innocently went over to the stand-by line and asked if there was a party of 2 that wanted to go in the FP line with us. There was almost a throw-down! I thought someone was going to get injured with people practically hurling themselves towards me! In the end, two young men happened to be the first to say they were a party of 2, so I gave it to them, but yikes. Not sure I'd do that to a line of tired people again...did not think that one through very well!

:rotfl: Sorry that happened to you....we find that the best way to give a family FPs (usually 4 that we give) is while we are walking out of the park and just randomly stopping another family of 4. Or like on our March trip, we had 6 TSM FPs (the ILs were with us that trip) that we thought we were going to use but then decided not to, and while sitting in the Indiana Jones Stunt Show there was a family of 6 that were really nice. So after the show DH asked the other Dad if they had been on TSM yet and they replied that they were going to see what the wait was, so my DH said no worries, we have 6 FPs for you if you want them. The mom was so exstatic and graciously took them.

Oh and one more story. We had 2 extra FPs for Soarin because my ILs wanted to go back to our resort for a nap while DH, I, and kids stayed at Epcot. As we were walking towards the Land, we saw a mother and her teenage son walking up ahead of us. My DH stopped them and asked if they were going to Soarin, which they were, so he offered the FPs to them. Both mother and son were so excited because even though they live in Florida, they had never been on Soarin because the line was always over an hour, and by the way they were reacting and talking, it sounded like they didn't know about the whole FP system and how it worked :confused3...regardless, I was really happy that we made their day.

My friend and I did that while waiting in a line at F&W last year. We were stuffed from all the food (and maybe a little buzzed) and going on Test Track had lost all its appeal. We gave them to the couple behind us in line and they had no idea about Fast Passes and how they worked! They were very happy and it felt good to pass them on since we weren't going to enjoy the ride anyway.

Did that last year at HS. There were five of us so it was a bit trickier than usual. I stood near the end of the standby line for ToT, waiting for a family of five to walk up. Just as I was about to give up and split up the FP's, a couple with three young boys walked up. You could tell they were hot and sweaty. The Mom and Dad had looks on their faces like standing in that line was the last thing in the world they were wanting to do, but their boys were dragging them along, all excited about riding.

I waited to see which line they were getting in (standby or FP). When they got in line, I went up to the mom and explained that we were leaving the park for the day and that I wanted to know if she and her family could use the five FP's we had gotten earlier. I told her that they were good right now and they could take them and go straight on the ride. Her eyes got huge and she opened her mouth, but nothing came out. She looked like she was going to cry so I just tucked the FP's into her hand and told her to have a nice day before running to catch up with my own family.

I looked back over my shoulder as we were leaving the ToT area and you would have thought they had won the lottery. The boys were jumping up and down as they drug their parents to the FP line.

It was the first time I had ever given away FP's, but after that I was hooked. Made me feel as if I had my own bag of Pixie dust.

We always do this when we are leaving. I had the GAD FPs this trip and went and got 6 Soarin FPs since the kids were done for the day and gave them away to 2 families just coming up to the ride. The first family was a bit unsure esp since they were for right that minute but did take them and the 2nd family took them no questions asked! LOL

We started doing this too after FINDING FPs for SM sticking up from the edge of a garbage can at MK. The kids LOVE giving our unused FPs to a family when we leave the park for the day.
