Though DVC for 13 years, this is our first year renting points.
Is anyone aware of a post with 'best practices' for renting, and any examples/templates/checklists to ensure a smooth experience for both parties, please?
Thank you in advance!

Our first time renting.
We lost 2 trips last year and have rented both trip points through Davids.
So far, has been very easy and paid quickly. Minimal hassle.
Hoping the rest goes as easily.
Really hoping to never so this again, but glad it was an option, versus losing the points (transferring to RCI did not look like a good option).

I have never rented and planning to research .
Do you recommend using this site to study a good renting process ?
I assume I might be able to “pretend” to figure out a process to rent points...
I don’t know if this site is a sponsor...I thought it was but don’t see a link anymore.
I do see the link for the DVC rental Store as a sponsor.

DVC Rental Store is the new website sponsor. Dvcrequest.com (David's) was the previous sponsor. AFAIK, the change was strictly a business decision on the part of the disboards and not due to any practices by David's.

However, I urge you to read the rental agreement for owners that any broker uses. You may find that some brokers insert clauses that you don't want to be subject to. For a first-timer rental, a broker is not necessarily a bad choice. You just need to be aware of the changes that they have made in a post-COVID era.

Very true.
As a first time renter (hopefully one and done), I didn't want to worry about the entire process.

I was in the same boat and found renting here on the rental boards hassle free.

Thanks for the reply. I see you've been active on the boards for a long time. Looking for good practices and a contract to reuse.
  • Did you purchase the Rental Plan to list here on DISboards?
  • What contract do you use? (Did not see any recent ones posted on DISboards - old thread from many years ago.)
