Just wondering how many ladies wear Shapewear under their formal wear? I just had my 3rd child last summer and though I have lost the baby weight my shape is def not the same esp my midsection :scared1:. So I was thinking about getting some shapewear to wear under my formal wear to give the illusion that I am still a hot mama:rotfl:. I have heard it works wonders though I don't have any yet and was wondering what kind works for you? (hopefully I am allowed to ask this).:goodvibes

Definitely!! Works wonders. ;) I love the Assets brand by Sara Blakely (at Target). Cheaper than Spanx but works just as well.

There is nothing wrong with a little bit of Spanx smoothing my baby-belly. I buy the Spanx brand available at Target. It depends on the style of the dress for the style I use, but I've been pretty happy with them overall.

I love the Target Shapwear. I like the tank tops you can wear your bra with. It firms up the jiggly bits quite nice.nd it doesn't get that hot in the summer under a t shirt.

I just got my first Spanx to wear under my form fitting formal night dress, tried it on and....AMAZING:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Nothing wrong with a little smoothing help!!!:goodvibes

I have a shape-wear piece that I wore on our cruise in March. My semi-formal dress seriously would not have zipped up without it! Now I know that clothing I intend to wear towards the end of a cruise needs to accommodate a few extra "cruise pounds!" I feel a free-slowing empire wait dress coming on! :goodvibes

Spanx. So many celebrities wear it and you would never know it without them telling on themselves in interviews. There aren't that many women in the world that can wear clingy dresses without a little help! It just takes away any tiny bump or wrinkle to make everything appear quite smooth!

I find that even when a dress is 'loose' I still need the Spanx to hide the 'underwear line'. I hate underwear lines!

I have a Maidenform shaper that I got from JCPenney that I absolutely love! I"m always rocking a little bit of belly bloat so I would always look about 3 months pregnant without it. :rotfl:

Spanx seems to get really good reviews but I would like to know which stores carry them. I looked into buying them here in Canada but the one store I find that sells them has them almost double the online price.:scared1: I'd like to be able to try them so would rather purchase them in FL if possible.

I like Spanx too. There are cheaper brands I guess, but I've been very happy with Spanx. I bought mine at Bloomingdales on sale.

Assets (at Target) is made by Spanx. So if you cringe at the Spanx price tag, try out Assets.

I, too, hate underwear lines, and have a bit of a left over "baby belly". I purchased some shapewear from Penneys. I tried it on at home, it was just too small, so I went back and purchased the next larger size.

I wore it under my fancy cocktail dress for formal night on our first cruise. It drove me crazy. It just seemed too confining, and it was too long, so it kept rolling up on the bottom edge. I had to return to our room and remove it and just wear my regular undergarments for the rest of the evening.

When I got home, I wrote a letter to the company telling them of my experience.
They sent me a credit to purchase any item they manufacture.

So shapewear isn't for everyone.
