I'm looking into getting probably the Reebok Easytones. I'd love to hear anyone's experience with this kind of shoe design. I've looked at a few Youtube clips. The Today show clip was helpful. Looking for sales too. They are expensive!

What's your experience with these shoes?

I bought the Mary Jane Shape Ups in June and bought the Shape Up Gym shoe last month. I love, love, love them both :lovestruc. I really have seen results in my muscle tone and even more so in my posture and balance. Most of all, they are very comfortable.

I bought my last pair from Shoe Carnival for $99 during a buy one get one half off sale. My son needed shoes so I was able to get half off of his pair which lessened the sting a bit. Famous Footwear also has them for $99. I considered the Reebok shoes, but some of the reviews turned me off a bit. People were reporting that the bubble thingy that provides the workout was deflating pretty quickly.

I hadn't heard of the Mary Jane Shape Ups. I'll look into them! Thanks for sharing that! :) Deflating bubble for 100 bucks doesn't sound so good. I'm glad I asked about the shoes!

I was wondering about these as well; I was interested until I saw the price tag :scared1: But if they're as good as you say, I may very well watch for a sale and see if I can snag a pair; my old gym shoes are getting pretty ragged!

I have the MBT sneakers, I LOVE them! It takes some time to get used to them and they are very pricey but worth every cent!!

MBT? What's that?

FYI, Easy Spirit also has their own version of these. I got a flyer from JC Penney last week that they were supossed to be on sale ther ein Jan, and thye are cheaper than the Skechers version.

For whoever asked what MBT is, it's a brand of shoes. I think they are the original shoe the Shape Ups are modeled after (sole-wise).

I bought the MBT sneakers two years ago and I love them for walking. They do bother me when I wear them to Disney because my feet get very tired when I am standing in one place in them. I also bought the MBT sandals at the same time and I don't like them. My feet don't feel stable in them. They are expensive, around $250.

I saw some at Famous Footwear for around $100. I think they were Sketchers and the store is having a buy one get one 1/2 off sale.

I have been looking at the Easytones, also. I am waiting until I start to get serious about my walking/running. I did read one article that said that they were pretty much a fad. The pretext is that they are made to make your walking unstable, and your body's correction of this makes certain muscles work harder. But the longer you wear them, the more natural the correction motions become and your body doesn't work as hard at it after awhile. I still may try them.:confused3

Here is the website I read. I take it with a grain of salt. http://www.businesspundit.com/reebok-easytone-shoes-promise-to-tone-your-butt-fad-alert/

I got the Sketchers brand for Christmas, but when I went to exchange the size I fell in love with the Avia Avi-motion. I exchanged the sketchers for the Avia. I'm wearing them now. They are very comfy, but I find I cna only wear them for about 30 minutes before I get uncomfortable. That is what htey so to do at first anyway b/c you are getting used to them.

Thanks for the replies guys. :) I'm going to look into the suggestions. I haven't decided on a pair yet. They are pricey so I'm taking my time to get a pair that will last, look somewhat decent, and are comfortable (at least for these type of shoes).

I'm also looking for a good sale (like everyone else). Not asking for too much, huh? I'll be walking for exercise anyway so I'm looking to get as much out of that activity as possible. :upsidedow

My Skecher's Shape Up shoes arrived the other day and I am breaking them in right now!! These have got to be the most comfortable tennis shoes I have ever owned!!!! Plus I love how it gives me an extra boost in my height.

I got a pair of Reebok Easy Tones for Christmas. I have worn them to work the last two days. (10 hour shifts on concrete.) They are very comfy and I didn't really realize they were doing anything until I got home and sat down for a few minutes. They are definitely doing something b/c my thighs and rear were sore. Love em so far.

Update: it has now been a week, and I have been wearing my new Skecher's everywhere! I just LOVE these shoes!! I wonder how long it takes to actually "break-in" new shoes. I don't want blisters this trip.

Thanks for the update. I've been looking for a fabulous sale. :)

The fabulous sale will be when KOHLS has a 30% code. They were $99, and I had a 30% off code making it only $70. I threw in a pair of socks to bring my total up to $75 and then the shipping was free!

That sounds right! I'm sorry I missed that last sale. But I'm on the look out now.

I have been wearing my Therashoe's from KMart since October. Same concept, but only $30 instead of $100.

They are very comfortable. I have the all white ones.

You can see them at www.therashoe.com online.

I bought the size I normally wear. They may be good to try at a lower price to see if your body can handle them and if they are comfortable to you (I wear mine with arch supports because I have bad arches).
