Shape up before you sail!

So I started yesterday, I got on today but in between sessions I put on that silicon sleeve. It said I had lost 11 pounds in 1 day. DARN! It must be the sleeve.:lmao: I didn't do anything else and had the same kind of clothes on. IF ONLY we could drop that in a day...every day! :cloud9:

:rotfl::lmao::cool1: Indeed, wouldn't that be nice!:yay:

Hmmm, I wonder if the sleeve somehow messes up the scale part. You'd think it would weigh heavier with something added. I don't have a sleeve on mine, although I notice it's getting slightly discolored (I run around barefoot all the time, so it's probably from my dirty feet). How I wish it were that simple to shed 11 lbs.!

I do the barefoot thing too. :thumbsup2 I got on it yesterday and at least now it had 2 days in a row where it was measuring w/ the sleeve on. I lost 4 pounds! :goodvibes We'll see if it recants that today but I worked for 40 minutes yesterday so I hope not. I'm REALLY enjoying it! Enjoying exercise! Who knew!:lmao:

Well after my Jillian Michaels tape I was pretty sore so day before yesterday I did upper body work, and walked.

Last night I tried jog/walk with my heart rate monitor so that helps me stay in the "fat burn" zone!

I hope everyone is having a GOOD CHOICE day - for food and moving!:thumbsup2:cheer2:

I'm still enjoying my exercise; I'll be away from my Wii for two days for a whirlwind weekend in Chicago, and I'm going to miss it. It won't be a good weekend foodwise as I'm originally from Chicago and have to eat all the things I desperately miss here in FL when I return. That means Lawry's Prime Rib, some Chicago style hot dogs, and probably some authentic Mexican food at Pepe's. Then it's back to the grindstone. I find the indulgences don't hurt me overall; I give myself permission to do that on cruises to a certain extent too, although I don't go overboard (pun intended, hee hee).

Barb, I just got back from Chicago (5 days there) and only gained a half pound. Hit a few of my favorite restaurants (Erwins!) but had on program breakfast every day and also several lunches 'at home'. I'm very pleased with the results!

Ran across this quote on the Weight Watchers web site and thought I'd share....it's something I have to keep in mind, as I'm in for the 'long haul'.

"On this journey, don't take a watch, take a compass.... it's not so much about how long it takes, it's the direction you are going that counts."

.

Only half a pound? Awesome!

I was up one pound when I first returned, but I didn't exercise yesterday so we'll see what the Wii scale says today. Even though I had my favorites, I didn't finish all of the food...just stopped when I felt full. That was hard to do, as they served half a cow on my plate at Lawry's, my favorite prime rib place!

I did leave a good bit off food behind also. Ripped off half the bread from any sandwiches and ate them 'open face'. Left behind french fries...something I NEVER would have done a few weeks ago. I found that only eating half or even just tasting some of the more dangerous foods really helped. And I did have a cold pasta breakfast one morning with leftovers. :lmao:

This is one of my favorite ways of reducing calories in general. So many restaurants serve sandwiches on HUGE hunks of bread. I've learned to leave much of it behind by concentrating on the sandwich contents. :thumbsup2

Hello all. I too am trying to lose weight before my Sept cruise (I have 25 lbs left to lose, I've already lost 25!) So I'm feeling good, and feel like it's an achievable goal. I count my calories (no more than 1200) and work out 6 days a week. I've been doing the elliptical at the gym (45 - 60 min each day) and weight training (15-25 min every other day). And I just got the Wii Active. I think that I need to mix it up a bit so that I don't get stagnant. I love that there's a place where we can share our achievements and get encouragement. I'm sure you will all do wonderfully and achieve your goals by the time you cruise.

It's seems that I have followed a few fellow "Tortolians" over from the Cruise Meets boards. Nice to see you on here and congratulations on all that you have done.

Welcome over here too, my fellow Tortolian! 25 pounds sounds very doable by cruise time, but it does get tougher closer to goal weight.

I've lost 7 pounds since starting WW, and that's with a one week slight gain on vacation, and another week to get rid of that. I'm hoping for another 25 off by Labor Day. Have started swimming, but the weather has not be cooperating...rain every night just right after work. :sad2: I'll have to spend extra time in the pool this weekend, when I have fewer time restrictions.

Keep plugging along everybody! :grouphug:

Congrats on the 25 down and keep on going for the next 25.

I hit a "wall". I'm not worried though, but I am sick - sore throat and coughing so no work-out today... all the more reason to watch that food!!!!

Good luck everyone!:wizard:

Congrats on the 25! Sounds like you have a good plan going :thumbsup2

Not alot to report but wanted to say -
This site has been very motivational to me!! :cool1: Since new post notices appear on my email, I sometimes read what others have posted when working. :rolleyes1 And usually at the 3PM "I want a snack" time. Just reading about everyone's success stories helps give me the willpower to avoid the junk food and have a healthy snack instead.
So, thanks everyone!!!:goodvibes

:lmao:I have a 4PM 'internet coffee break' at work.

I used to eat celery for a snack but I hate the strings in my teeth...now I buy JICAMA and I LOVE IT!!!!

Love it in my salad, my stir fry...yummy sweet and refreshing!

However, I have a huge craving for a hamburger today.... geez - when will the insanity stop?:lmao::thumbsup2:rotfl2::rotfl:

Thank you all for your support. Jackie, that was a good suggestion to take off the top bun of a sandwich, I liked that tip and used it over the weekend at a picnic.

I take the top bun off of all my hamburgers now. And I eat very little of the bottom one. With gastric bypass, I had to find a way to deal with things and bread caused heck. So I learned from that. ;) Then you can have some of your favorite things w/ no guilt.

My DD09 and I are off to run the Freihofers race for Women (5K) this morning. I might be a tad overweight but I'm trying to be a better role model !! Hopefully we'll be able to do the Castaway Cay 5K together too...:cool1:
Have a great weekend everyone. :goodvibes
