Shape up before you sail!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Great job everyone!!

Last week I was down about 3 pounds and I weigh the same today. That could be because we celebrated our 28th Anniversary on Saturday and I did indulge a little while eating out. I have been doing the Wii Sports Active Personal Trainer 30 day challange faithfully. The weight may not be coming off too fast but my clothes fit a little looser and I'm glad about that. I really need to not focus too much on the scale everyday because weight does fluctuate and I get discouraged if it goes up. I should just weigh in once a week and note my progress then. I have been watching my food intake and I'm back on track since Monday and I do feel good about myself when I know I've done my best. That helps to carry me forward towards my goal. I know I won't lose a lot of weight before September but some will be gone at least. I have a long road ahead but I've promised myself I'll do my best and not get discouraged.

Keep up the good work, I look forward to hearing about your successes! :woohoo:

I almost want to stand up and say "Hi, my name is Peggy and I have scale issues"... seriously it can throw me into a "bad eat" faster than anything, even though the clothes fitting gets better, if I don't see the numbers it makes me crazy. From now on I think I'm going to weigh in with my eyes closed and not let my counselor tell me where I'm at for a while.... down only .5 pound from last week.

I know I know, this happens, could be water... but if I didn't KNOW I would have just gone on blindly in a good mood. Guess who stopped at Costco to get pick up a few supplie and I stopped and had a polish sausage/dog... COME ON!!! What's up with that?:scared1: It made me sick - my stomach was screaming at me all night - so I learned my lesson and back on plan today... live and learn thru my bad behavior folks, IT ISN'T WORTH it... I just keep telling myself - that moment of what I though was pleasure was FALSE!

Ok, back to work... sorry about the mini tantrum.

Hi Evette
Well done on your 3lb weight loss and don't be disheartened if you don't lose every week - especially when you have a celebration - Congratulations on your 28th anniversary - if that isn't worth celebrating then I don't know what is !! My plan is to eat well 90% of the time - that way if I have a special celebration or a night out with friends I won't beat myself up about it! Life is also about enjoyment and it's important to remember that and not to get too disheartened if we enjoy an occasional special meal - otherwise what is life all about! Try and go on your scales just once a week if you want to see more of a change - it is easy to become obsessed - I am weighing on the Wii about twice a week at the moment and on the electronic scales once every 2weeks. I am also measuring those vital stats every 2 weeks to see if I am losing inches. Wishing you well

HI Peggy
Please don't be disheartened at your .5 lb weight loss - the important word here is LOSS and you will have weeks where the loss is less than you hoped. Remember as women we have a lot of things governing our weight changes and sometimes things are way beyond our control. Also do not beat yourself up over your momentary lapse - one hot dog will not make so much difference over a week or so, so put that behind you and move forward. I have also noticed that eating rich food will have a detrimental effect on my digestive system after a period of eating healthily (don't know what will happen on the cruise then - :scared1::scared1:). Keep up the good work, you know it will be worth it when we are sitting on Castaway cay !!!

Hi Peggy & Sarah:flower1:

Thanks for your input. I appreciate your words and they give me encouragement to keep on going. Your weight loss helps me to want to stay on track. Keep up the good work . :woohoo:

I did realize this morning that it's not so much about losing the weight (although it's important) but about feeling better about myself and having better health. I want to be able to really enjoy the week we will be in WDW before the cruise and I know if my body is stronger it will be more enjoyable. DD Kellie uses a wheelchair when we are there and it will be easier on me when it's my turn to push. This is also the first time we are going in the heat, the other 2 times were in January. Not sure how we'll do with that.

Have a wonderful day!

P.S. Peggy, I hope we meet on the cruise.

Thanks all! Hi Evette - Hi Sarah - thanks so much for your wonderful words. Yes we WILL meet on the cruise we always go to the DIS meet the first day and I'm excited to meet new people and say hello to those "oldie" but "goodies" I've sailed with before. This will be a very special trip for our family - we've never really taken a vacation together all four siblings with spouses! Although, my spouse is in the "dog house" right now... :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

HI

I am really looking forward to meeting so many new people on our cruise - and some old friends from my last one! I didn't realise 4 of you were siblings - I think I have worked out that Jackie is your sister but who are the other two? Hope what your "other half" did to get put in the "dog house" wasn't too bad :guilty::guilty:

The remaining two siblings are not DISers, nor on the WBTA...although my brother's EX wife is cruising with me on that one! :lmao:

Can't address your second question, but I'm betting it's for something he DIDN'T do. (boys....:sad2:)

It is fun to meet new folks isn't it? I too always look forward to that. My brother Paul and my other sis Di are not diser's and will be with us in 9/12/09 but not on WBTA like Jackie said.

Well the "subject" was stuff he wasn't doing, and we got into it...

Now if only I could get him to discuss dining plans with Jackie so we can make those ADR's - OH and I need to by park hopper tickets.

Back on plan today, had a bad week and the week before only down .5 pound so I have to punish myself this week and work my fanny off at the gym! Ok, not really punishment is it? :rotfl2:

I weighed in on the Wii Fit this morning and I was a bit disappointed to find I had lost only a single 1lb - despite sticking to less than 1200 calories every day apart from when I went to the Indian and even then I chose low fat options. I did have 3 days off Wii Fit though when working. I know that the fact I am still heading in the right direction should be a positive, but I was hoping for at least a 2lb loss. (In 2 weeks I have lost a total of 5lbs - so I suppose I should be happy with that!)

On a more positive note I have re-measured all my vital stats and I have lost 3 inches off my waist measurement in 2 weeks, 1 inch off my bust, half an inch each off the widest part of my abdomen, my thigh and my upper arm but unfortunately the hips have stayed the same! (hips definitely have a long way to go...)

Good luck everyone for the week ahead!:wizard::wizard:

Great Job Sarah! :cheer2:

I was disappointed yesterday too. I weighed my self on the bathroom scale and it said I was down a couple of pounds and then I weighed on the Wii Fit and it said I gained .4 pounds since the last weigh in......oh my! I know I haven't been eating enough calories to have gained the weight so it's water weight.....but still disappointing to not see the numbers go down. Make sure you are eating at least 1200 calories or your body may go into "starvation mode" and hold onto the extra weight because you are not eating enough. I like the Wii Fit but I haven't been excercising with it lately....I should do some of that along with the Sports Active for the Wii. I really like the Hula Hoop and the Boxing on the Wii Fit. What are your favorites?

Back on plan and not having too much stomach issues - mostly gas and I've called the doctor to test my alergic reactions to foods to rule that out... heading out of town on Thursday and I'm a little afraid I'll fall off the plan and I really can't waste ANY time now, we are less than 3 months to the cruise and I need to lose ALOT of weight!!!!

I have a bit of a routine which I do on the Wii Fit - warm up with step and advanced step - then I go for a long distance jog, followed by boxing. Then I do some balance games and muscle exercises, then to finish off I do the hula hooping and the short jog - which i try to run fast. I do 30mins total. Yesterday I pulled back muscle doing the boxing and it's all a bit painful today.

Things are still slowing improving here. Need to start WALKING as well as swimming...WDW is only eleven weeks away, gotta get this body moving!

As of this morning I've decreased my body weight by 5%...my first WW mini-goal! :woohoo:

Congrats :cheer2: That is awesome. Making smaller goals help us onto our overall goal. When you reach the smaller goal it gives you the encouragement to reach the large goal. Congrats on the 1st step to a new you!!!!!

Thanks!

Tonight I had to drop off a house key to the person (good friend of my sister) I was cat sitting for and when I got there she had made us a lovely salad for dinner! Lots of good veggies with some turkey, ham and a wonderful smoked cheese. Yummm, yummmm....and I brought some leftovers home. I was so inspired, I made some (fake) crab salad when I got home. Used a little light Miracle Whip, lemon juice, scallion, crushed black pepper, celery seed and a tiny sprinkle of cilantro. I'll be having a lovely lunch tomorrow! ::yes::

Hey ya'll! This weekend, I finally broke the 200 lb mark!

I just am sooooooo determined to not see that 200 again. I have a renewed sense of determination. No more slacking on weekends. No more "just this once" for "special occasions." If it is a special occasion, and I want a little splurge, I will do so, but it MUST fit in to my food consumption/excercise expenditure for the day. No more guesstimating the sweets that are made. Even as time-consuming and annoying as it may be, I WILL add up the ingredients and come up with the exact nutrition facts on anything homemade we have.

Of course, with the Independence Day holiday coming up, I will be able to put my willpower to the test.

:cheer2: YOU GO GIRL! :cheer2:

Congrats on making it to ONEderland. I plan on joining you there.
I have this mental image of Scarlet O'Hara clenching her fist and saying, "As God is my witness, I will never weight 200 pounds again!"
