In one week we'll be staying DVC for the first time. I was wondering if shampoo and soap are supplied or do I need to bring my own? Also does anyone know if BCV and OKW have hairdryers in the rooms. I'm thinking yes to all my questions but I need to know for sure before I start packing!!

Have a magical day!!!

Yes, there are hairdryers in the rooms. They do give you little soaps and shampoos with Mickeys on them, but they are very small and you only get new ones on trash/towel day. I bring my own as we are picky about shampoo and only like Dove soap. HTH

All the DVC units have hair dryers.

You will only find a small bottle (1 or 2 use) bottle of "Mickey" shampoo and 1 bath & 1 hand soap in each bathroom. IIRC, you will also get a small bottle of "Mickey" conditioner and "Mickey" hand lotion.

I bring my own shampoo & conditioner (and lotion) and save the "Mickey" stuff for stocking stuffers. the "Mickey items aren't the best stuff, anyway.

Best wishes -

Thanks for the quick responses!!! Now I have a bit more room in my luggage since I don't need to bring my hairdryer.

During our most recent stay, the Mickey shampoo/conditioner is now combined in one bottle so if you don't like using 2 in 1 shampoos you might want to bring your own.

This may not matter to some people, but please be aware, that the hair dryers are only 1625 watt (I think). I have really thick hair, and if I plan on doing any styling I need a stronger hair dryer, therefore I always bring my own. Again, I know that this may be insignificant to a lot of people, but not to those of us with really thick hair who rely on our 1875 watters at home!

In about 16 trips to WDW, I have only gotten a bottle of conditioner and lotion on one trip and that was at the GF in Sugarloaf Concierge.

I agree on the hairdryers. If I have a lot of time, I might use theirs. Otherwise I bring my own because it is a lot faster and dries better.

The only DVC resort I've seen that leaves lotion is Vero Beach. The others tend to do one bottle of shampoo and conditioner combined, plus a couple of soaps in each bathroom. In July I got the full treatment with amenities at AKL - regular room had a nice selection and then we moved to concierge, where there were additional items. Years ago, I remember staying at the Poly concierge and there was even a Mickey Boxed toothbrush.

It always amazes me that we 'check this stuff out' as I've usually got a case full of premium products from home. I guess its the display and the teeny sizes that make them attractive.
Hairdryers - they rarely blow hard enough to quickly dry my hair, so I pack my own turbo charged model.

Not necessarily....we stayed in a 2BR at BCV this past May and the studio did not have a hairdryer anywhere in sight. It was a pain because our guests had to keep coming over to use our hairdryer after I told them they wouldn't have to pack one.

It should have. Every studio we have stayed in (haven't stayed at BCV yet) has had a hair dryer too.

I agree.

CRSNDSNY - Was the BCV 2 bedroom a dedicated unit? Maybe those only have 1 hairdryer. I'm quite sure all the studios do have (or are supposed to have) hairdryers.

Best wishes -

From the SSR TIP Sheet which I received during my recent stay. I'm assuming the fees are the same for all DVC resorts.

A "start up" selection of amenities has been provided in your vacation home. Additional supplies can be delivered for a nominal fee. Additional laundry soap - $1.00; additional towels - $6.00; additional soap and shampoo - $3.00; and additional coffee - $3.00.

Well, it didn't. I agree as well that it should have had its own hairdryer.

It was a dedicated 2BR. In fact, it was the 2BR directly behind the Mermaid/DVC statue in the Courtyard on the first floor.
