Shake and Bake! TR link up FINALLY!!!!

No I'm cleaning my moms house today. Ok I'm DISsing while pretending to clean my moms house. :rolleyes1

Hopefully my Queen of Hearts costume comes soon!!! We'll get Alice tonight or Tomrrow. Morgan is going to a sleepover so it might be tomorrow.

This weekend Ill make the white rabbit. Or try to. :lmao:
What is your plan for the rabbit?

We decided we dont really need a bunny suit after watching the movie because we are making this costume

We will make the pants, shirt, jacket and bow tie and then make a bunny hat for him. He might wear gloves. Not sure though. I bought really light weight cotton. :thumbsup2

Looks cute, and the light weight cotton sounds so much better than the tricot. :thumbsup2 How are you going to do the hat?

I bought a bunny suit pattern you make out of felt or plush felt. Well, I bought some plush felt and it kind of comes up around the head and face and velcros under the neck. It will probably be hot but he wants it like this. He says a headband is for girls.:lmao: I was going to make hiim a headband with bunny ears because I thought it would be cool to wear but he thought he would be too girl like.

So anyway, he has a full head bunny hat with ears and if he wants to take it off I wont stress. he can put it on and off at his own will. :lmao:

My advice is to buy the shirt. They take time, and are harder to do. Find one on clearance somewhere. You also might be able to find a cheap bow tie and pocket watch too.

Awe! I don't blame him. Sounds good. Don't forget to clip the the curves around his face, before you turn it inside out, or it won't come out flat. It will pucker. Did they teach you that ? It is lined, right?

Oh yes, I was thinking a cheap walmart yellow shirt would do nicely. I will skip the stand up collar. The jacket scares me. I dont have a pattern. :confused3 The pants I can do in a second. No problem.

I wonder if I could find a yellow button down shirt with a collar then just iron it up? Hmm. I'm thinking outloud here.

Any ideas on the jacket?

yes and thanks for the reminder! I have a lightweight cotton to line the inside. I know he will fry but this is what he wants so I'll make it for him. We might do some bunny whiskers on him so even if he takes it off people can tell what who he is. :confused3

Not sure if that is manly enough though:lmao:

Hmm! I'm going to think out loud here. If you buy a yellow shirt, make it short sleeves or cut off the sleeve period. That will make it cooler and it won't interfer with the jacket.

Next........Have you ever set in a sleeve? The jacket like the picture shouldn't be too hard. But find the easiest one you can. Today I was going to surf costume patterns for Kaitlyn, and I'll keep my eyes peeled out for you.

Or, How about calling Morgan's dance teacher and see if they have any red jackets left over from tap, or somethng.

OR go to the thrift store and see what they have.

:confused3 What say you?

I have an idea!!

Buy a long sleeve yellow shirt with collar. If you can't find yellow, dye it. Make sure that it is cotton though, or it won't take.

Next how about making a red vest only?? They are easy to make! Sew a gold button on each side of the vest, with a gold chain to attached to the buttons across the front to keep it closed. Can you picture it?

The Vest Idea I have thought of. That would be easy. And more comfortable. I'll run that by him again today. He didnt like it before because the rabbit has long sleeves but I'll remind him how hot it will be outside.

Yes I've done sleeves. Just a couple though. The part I was having trouble with is probable simple but I hadnt done it yet it was the collar on the jacket. Shoot what is that called? Lapel? where it folds over. :lmao: I was probably going to skip that part. We are informal rabbits in this house.:lmao:

A vest would be cute and easy. I like the gold chain part. If I did a vest I wouldnt need a pattern. :thumbsup2 I'm pretty sure I could figure that out as it didnt have to be perfect!!! I'll go to walMart tonight to see what kind of shirt I can find. Thanks for the idea on the shirt.

The pattern I have for the bunny also has white fuzzy covers for the shoes and I thought about that to cover his tennis shoes. that would be cute too!

Less than 3 weeks now!!! :woohoo: I should come down and say Hi. (Since I have AP's now..:lmao: ) I am really considering November though. I'd love to see all of the parks decorated for the Holidays. I've never been to DHS during the Holidays!

Took a note on the pennies. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Well if you have set in sleeves before, no worries. I'm sure you could do the lapel thing. And I gotta tell you..... If you can make a vest without a pattern, you go girl.:cheer2: I don't think I've ever done that.:rolleyes1

I cant belive I havent been here yet! I am soo ashamed of myself!
I am still on page one but I will catch up.
You have a beautiful family!!
Oh and I NEED your DH's dunder mifflin shirt!! I LOVE THE OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Shawna,
Just popped in to say Hi! Will catch up properly tonight.
Feeling a bit shell shocked still, but bit better today. I don't think I'll fully relax until we actually check into POP!

All caught up now.
Good luck with the costumes - you sound so professional - I wouldn't have aclue where to start!
Bummer that we're going to miss MNSSHP - thought we might still be able to get to another date, but the last one is 31 Oct and we fly out that day - not enough time!
Still we'll get a refund - that'll pay for the car hire on the new trip.
Still, I had just bought my costume...guess no one will see me as a 'Glamorous Witch' after all! :rolleyes1
:yay: :yay: You're so close now! :cheer2: :cheer2:
