shaing meals at the nicer restaurants

We commonly share an appetizer and desert and have never, ever had anyone at Disney make us feel funny about that. If I ever came across a server who seemed to have an attitude, I'd think it was that individual who had the problem. I also agree that the atmospher at Disney encourages us to be comfortable and casual, and it very different from other restaurants I've been to.
We've never personally shared an entree in a nice restaurant, and I believe the servings at CG were smaller than other restaurants, so you might be hungry if you shared one meal there. Another option is to order an appetizer for an entree. I don't think anyone would blink if you sat down and said the only thing you wanted was a salad! They've seen it all. For all the server knows, you ate a huge lunch and don't have room for anything more.
Have a great trip!

Usually, my husband orders an entree and I order an appetizer as my meal. Then we freely take food from each other's plates to taste it. Usually we have room for a dessert and share that, too. We have done this in very fine restaurants in and out of WDW and never had anything said to us. Certainly no restaurant has ever refused. I'm just not a big eater, and I hate to feel stuffed. I also like to have a little dessert, so this method works fine for us.

My husband and I share often at all types of resturants and we don't think it is tacky at all....it is my money, my waistline, etc etc. I never notice when another table splits something because I am more interested in having a good time with my husband and my girls if they are with us.

I think it is perfectly fine. DH and I often share an appetizer and dessert. We do usually get our own enttees, and taste what the other one has ordered.

As for splitting an entree, I have read many times that the entree was split in the kitchen, and served on separate plates. The platting is done very nicely on both plates - and presentation is very important in nicer restaurants. I do think that you should feel comfortable splitting an entree. It shouldn't matter to the other diners or your server.

Enjoy yourself - that is the important part!!!!! It's your vacation, and your money!
